  1. I see a line of rain just appear on the radar off the coast near Brest. Thoughts?
  2. Could you explain "Capped". I get the general idea that it means the conditions aren't right but I'm looking to learn a bit more. Further more, what you saying is that the maoosive storm over West France may spawn some more activity north of that later on which may hit E Anglia? Thanks for replying
  3. I think I am asking politely if anyone has any clue about why the storms didn't form the way everyone thought they would? Does anyone know what happened, what stopped them?
  4. Nick F, can you explain why there's nothing happening? Especially in the areas that were in the high risk? Not a blame game, just what made things not form the way they should?
  5. Is it not going to happen then? Can anyone explain why things don't seem to be happening how they were forecast by every news and weather team in the UK? What changed?
  6. Again, does everything have to fit in place for this activity to happen, or is it a dead certain that tomorrow nights predicted storms will occur somewhere in UK?
  7. Is there a danger that NOTHING could happen? I seem to be is much of a favourable position for where things could happen. (10 miles north of cambridge) Every run I've seen for the past 36 hours says 2500 Cape, 86% Storm Risk, but NO rainfall?
  8. My postcode is pe27. That will show the HUGE cape for Tuesday. I know StIves had storms then, but I work in Cambridge and were there both times. In fact there's been three, and missed them all. I've not heard thunder since Sept 08. Yea...
  9. St-Ives Cambridgeshire shows 2978j/kg and -8 LI for Tuesday 10am - 16pm. Thats even better than before! I'm still waiting for my first rumble of thunder!
  10. 18Z still shows 1500+J/KG and -5 LI. Fingers crossed! Waiting for the NW warning for tomorrow...
  11. Hoorah! A glimmer of hope for my area today! Congrats on everyones exciting couple of week so far. There been so much activity this early in the year I'm hopeful it will mean a much better year for storms. I for one have not seen or heard anything yet but I'm still finding it exciting watching the progress of others we've had so far.
  12. I'm just north west of Camb, so I do hope so! I cant see any activity from here though, no rain as of yet even. Hopefully things will kick off soon with this cold front (not that I know what the effect would be )
  13. First time ofthe year I've felt it's worth signing in. Maybe I'm not hardcore enough. Noticed quite alot of activity already over the Atlantic west of France.
  14. and i caught the beginnings of it. I took some pictures of it forming, and a 14 min video of it starting to rain, and passing overhead with thunder beginnings. although i wish i were further in its life span, the start of it was amazing also!
  15. I was in Fen Drayton again, and saw it develop from a white fluffy cloud, to a full blown lightning show as it went right over me! Feels good to be out of the no storm club properly. Want more though
  16. just had an awesome storm pass through. first proper on of the year. i watched the cell develop and it exploded just before reaching me. awesome stuff. i still think round here theres energy build more, so hopefully might get another later on. When are they supposed to start dying off tonight?
  17. I totally understand specific detail cannot be accurately forecast in terms of areas etc, but its getting on through August now with no sign of any significant weather severity in the near future. Is there even a slight chance of anything popping up in the next month or so that we have left of the season, or is the current 1/2 scattered (doubtfully thundery) showers, 1/2 sunny spells scenario going to be the end of our summer for this year. I know we mostly feel majorly let down with the summers activities thus far, but I'm in hope for one last chance of having a day of storms, or even a single overnight light show. How do the long range forecasts see things? Any chance?
  18. where are they intensifying? All i see is everything disappearing.
  19. suprisingly disappointing day for cambridge, seeing as how much rain seemed to surround the city. one distant rumble heard all day, nothing else to speak of. is there any potential for any nightime rumbles?
  20. the lightning radar i yas thinking of was the netweather one. Could i get a link to that one please
  21. could someone post the lightning radar link, as im on my mobile and cant find it. thanks in advance
  22. They've taken out EA from the main warning area, and in only in the weak warning area. Does EA not have that much risk anymore? NW and other sites still say theres a big risk in my area
