    So in laymens terms, where does it seem any action may take place in the next 24hours?

    Something ive noticed is that bit of rain coming from the channel islands, through southampton and portsmouth. That seems to be not dissapating as much a thought, and also Blitzortung has got a strike just off the coast for that area in the last 20 mins. Hopefully building strength to have a go at southern england, and then up towards east midlands/western east angia? I can wish!

    After much thought to 100% understand I now do, although even though this pressure drop is happening (now down to 1006mb) and there being a decent cloud cover, there still seems to be no rain forecast for this area, or visually that occurrence happening. What would cause this?

    Met Office says pressure should be 1012 - 1014mb here, which also coincides with no rain or anything happening in Cambs, but since 9pm last night I've seen a drop from 1013 down to now just 1007mb. Being a meteo-novice can anyone explain how this may favour anything happening?

    *whispers* 80% About time, been a long time since I've seen anything decent round here. Forecats now show the heat will remain for at least the next 10 days with another storm potential next weekend too!

    I too am new to the forums, and storm mad. I was wondering if there was a group on the forums which people local to each other can give reports etc, and even meetup for any storm chasing?

    From the sounds of things, it all seems to be dying off for the night nearly everywhere. All we got here is a very light shower. More on the way but not much hope for anything interesting included with it.

    Can see rain starting up again in Bedford/Northampton area and heading this way. Will keep you posted.
