Snow finally reached here. Good ten minutes of steady snow back to heavy snizzle now. Not bad.

A Mediterranean -3C here on the hill. Mysteriously cloudy mind.

Coldest reading in the car at Lamancha/Leadburn -10.5C coming into town. It's even -6C in north Edinburgh just now with the freezing fog just descending.

Wee bit snowy in South Lanarkshire just now on the drive home. Fluttering down in Biggar with much excitement in the co-op.

Various models still throwing out interest for the western half of the central belt and south west Scotland Monday night through to Tuesday afternoon. Still difficult to call, definitely down to watching the radar I think.
For the end of the week, very up in the air, corrections in all directions at the moment.
Couple more charts showing it is fair game anywhere across the country. Tues am particularly, looks tasty for the central belt including Glasgow city...

Agreed that the week ahead is easily the most interesting of the winter so far. Looking over Lothian those opportunities for lowland snow all have -7°C uppers, so it's a definite possibility inside the A720 city bypass....

Sparkly snizzle here just now. Looks like this weak front is moving NW-SE and pepping-up maybe.

Blyth Bridge to Broughton this evening stunning in the car headlights. White blanket either side of a sometimes slippery A Road. Home to a level 3cm. Winter at last.

Snowed around midnight at home to give a level 1cm. Crunchy start to day reversing out the drive and straight into a beech hedge... That's what happens when it's the first snow of the season and I'd forgotten how to cope
At work now but looks like lots of stuff falling at home and even in Edinburgh city centre it snowed around 10.30am.
Profile signature to be adjusted....

Biggest chance of some serious snow is to the south-east of Glasgow. Easily up to 6 inches down the M74 somewhere, maybe more over the hills. The 00z Euro4 might put some more detail on it but if the GFS is right some people will be digging snow by Tuesday morning. Possibly as far east as @shuggee, East Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, western Borders and north-east of Dumfries & Galloway (roughly).
XC quoting me 9cm. We shall see - first of the season if, if, it isn't a 'sleety mix'.

Margaret who drives the Tesco delivery van says there's half an inch at Wanlockhead and it was spitting snow between Carnwath and Biggar.

Under the lightest shade of pink on the radar but can't see anything falling or blowing about having just been out to the chicken coop. Time for my snowy avatar I think as a celebration of the potential this evening of seeing something frozen fall oot the sky.

Today it is mostly gusty.

Looking like various 12/24/36 hour duration periods of cold zonality from the NW from Tues next week.... Remember January last year anybody?!

Conversation just now about our Friday delivery of coal and peat. I said I was sure we had ordered kindling as well but I hadn't noticed it...
Went outside and lo and behold it is there - in white polyethylene bags which had been camouflaged by the snow!
