Now that at T+384 we have the first predictions from the GFS model for Christmas Day 2018 it felt like a good idea to post daily that chart every 24 hours to see its progression. Think it will be a fascinating insight into the FI sphere and then into reliable to see where we end up.
Comment is of course welcome in the Hunt for Cold thread

Pouring down all the way into the city today. And everyone jumping in their cars as a result = car nage.

Rain from the SSW just on here. That's it for 2-3 hours. Staying indoors.

Bloody windy up this hill anyway! Horrible vile awful night out there, rain battering on the windows so bad the husband had to turn up the telly.
Pouring windy rain. Fire on. YouTube activated at our stunning broadband speed of 7mbps.....

A good 5mm of glaze ice all over the car this morning - heavy freezing rain at -2C. Bugger to get off!

A much much better day. Dry and from 2pm sunny. Lovely to see the light and with a low-ish dew point it has started to dry-up.

Frosty start, sunny daytime now overcast evening. Still.
Chickens never seen frost before and they looked unimpressed.

Not the best choice for a day out to Hawick. It'll be a moody drive over the hills mind, looking forward to that part.

Thanks. Having googled images of sloes, I believe that's exactly what they are.
To acid to eat raw, but perfect for preserves and gin!
Gin!? Naughty.
Meanwhile it's the Autumn Public Holiday in Edinburgh tomorrow. I have beer in front of me, which is purely coincidental.

Maybe a blackthorn hedge with sloes?

Another lovely warm day, marred only by a strong and gusty southerly wind that only let up in the evening.
Maximum temperature of 23C and it actually felt warmer than that out of the wind.
Variable amounts of cloud throughout the day.
Some random pictures from these parts (taken late afternoon) to illustrate the weather.
Plenty dust now in the fields and had to start irrigating the garden again, don't recall ever needing to do that this late in the season before.
Love the purple haze. Often camera shots don't pick it up to that degree. Fantastic.

18°C here in Tweeddale. We are in the soft drizzle of low cloud hugging the hills and the forest - muggy with damp surfaces.

From showery rain at 6.15am to sunny skies 19°C at 3pm. Lovely day.
