Well another heatwave gone and not a rumble to be heard! Some welcome rain for the garden, but this year has been absolutely awful for storms!
You would think with all the heat we would have seen some fireworks! Looking like that's it for the year, Autumn is fast approaching so the storm potential is going to drop!

I honestly cannot see what there is to enjoy when the night time temperature is as high as the average day time temperature! I didn't mind heat years ago as you normally got a storm out if it, but these days it goes out with a wimper, after roasting you for a week!
I hope that is it for heat this year!!

Just like with snow in winter, thunderstorms during the summer is becoming more of a rarity.
At one time, you were almost guaranteed a thunderstorm after a period of hot weather. But not anymore.
Yeah, didn't mind the heat as you normally got a storm out of it, but for the heat to go out with a wiper seems to be par for the course these days. So frustrating!!

Wolves, around my part of Wolves I should clarify, hasn’t had many, if any, storms since 2020. In fact I think we had the odd rumble last summer but nothing worthy of note at all. The last humdinger we had was August 2020, which was quite a spectacular storm. I’m not convinced we will get any later today either.
Yeah Aug 2020, i remember that one! That was the last time we had anything. Cloud seems to be building around here, only time will tell (it will probably chuck it down about 2:45 when i am on the way to the school to pick my lad up lol!)

Fully expect to still be here come tomorrow. Unless by some bizarre fluke the Telford Storm shield breaks

Here in Ludlow, West Midlands the conditions are prime - I would expect to see cells fire over Brecon/Hay on wye area then move up maybe across to Telford later.
HAHAHA! Not a chance - the storm shield has been on full power for nearly 2 years now. Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton have seen storms. We have been VERY unlucky!

Yep it doesn’t matter really. If it slows down or gets stuck somewhere you’ll see a fair amount of rain. Lincolnshire suffered bad flooding in June 2019 from this set up. Wainfleet saw 75mm of rain in 2 days on the 10/11th when a trough got stuck in one place.
Not saying we’re going to see that happen again, but it just illustrates that an innocuous looking feature can dump a lot of rain down!I was in Skegness that week and it was horrific !, We were on Butlins with the kids and the ground outside our apartment flooded so much there were ducks on it lol!! I really hope that this year is not the same!

Awful here today, think my 9 year old and his school will have been blown around Hadley today on their parade!

2020 was the last time this area had a storm, pretty pitiful. Many a time i have seen them coming our way then miss us by 15 miles and hit Shrewsbury or Brum!! So lets see what 2022
brings...

You been unlucky, we have had at least 6 heavy snow showers, 3 were white outs and covered grass, hills, cars, a few more incoming tonight.
Gritters have been out, and we are just in a yellow warning area, more heavy snow at 8pm
Normally the way, even shrewsbury has had had a couple of flurries today. Telford just lives under a snow shield in winter and sping and a storm shield in summer, you get used to it haha

Not seen a flake of snow here in Telford. Bloody cold taking and picking up my lad from school mind!!

Weather has been beautiful, dont want snow now, not seen any at all in the past x months as it is, so it really is not welcome now! Really enjoying the sun, keeps the kids happy as they can play in the garden, happy kids happy dad lol!!

Cold and cloudy here today. Hoping this is not going to be the norm all week!!
-
Wind is worse than Friday and we were under an Amber then.... so far lost 2 fence panels, the kids full size basketball stand has blown over and the bins are down the bottom of the garden!

More snow everywhere else I see, even the SE has had some. Bright and sunny here, not a flake in sight and again loads of ice this morning where yesterdays rain froze
Yeah no snow here at all, just a very dodgy walk to school, trying to keep my lad from falling I ended up on my ass lol!!

Lighting activity has died right off. Typical! Rain is imminent though.
