  1. Well another heatwave gone and not a rumble to be heard! Some welcome rain for the garden, but this year has been absolutely awful for storms!

You would think with all the heat we would have seen some fireworks! Looking like that's it for the year, Autumn is fast approaching so the storm potential is going to drop!

Just like with snow in winter, thunderstorms during the summer is becoming more of a rarity.

At one time, you were almost guaranteed a thunderstorm after a period of hot weather. But not anymore.

Yeah, didn't mind the heat as you normally got a storm out of it, but for the heat to go out with a wiper seems to be par for the course these days. So frustrating!!

Wolves, around my part of Wolves I should clarify,  hasn’t had many, if any, storms since 2020.  In fact I think we had the odd rumble last summer but nothing worthy of note at all. The last humdinger we had was August 2020, which was quite a spectacular storm.  I’m not convinced we will get any later today either.

Yeah Aug 2020, i remember that one! That was the last time we had anything. Cloud seems to be building around here, only time will tell (it will probably chuck it down about 2:45 when i am on the way to the school to pick my lad up lol!)

Yep it doesn’t matter really. If it slows down or gets stuck somewhere you’ll see a fair amount of rain. Lincolnshire suffered bad flooding in June 2019 from this set up. Wainfleet saw 75mm of rain in 2 days on the 10/11th when a trough got stuck in one place.

Not saying we’re going to see that happen again, but it just illustrates that an innocuous looking feature can dump a lot of rain down!

I was in Skegness that week and it was horrific !, We were on Butlins with the kids and the ground outside our apartment flooded so much there were ducks on it lol!! I really hope that this year is not the same!

You been unlucky, we have had at least 6 heavy snow showers, 3 were white outs and covered grass, hills, cars, a few more incoming tonight.

Gritters have been out, and we are just in a yellow warning area, more heavy snow at 8pm

Normally the way, even shrewsbury has had had a couple of flurries today. Telford just lives under a snow shield in winter and sping and a storm shield  in summer, you get used to it haha

That yellow blob to the SE looks like it could be turning our way, watch it get as far along the M54 as Albrighton and sail past...

Yeah, as it stands in North Telford there is no snow,  (I'm an in Hadley) But people on Woodside and Madeley are reporting snow, so must be close!
