Wildness coming I think. The station I quote from is much nearer to the centre of town than I am. Wind is actually creaking my roof at times. Nothing serious, just like the sound of floorboards creaking. -

MetO warning was well timed I think. Comes into effect just after midnight. 30mph regular gusting (reports from nearby town-based weather station) doesn't seem like much but this is a relatively sheltered town. Winds will be higher at elevations on the outskirts.

A brief few wind gusts after a period of calm. Wind veered from more Westerly to Southerly. Light rain. Pressure falling. Currently 1001.6mb. That has fallen from 1002.5mb in 15 minutes.

I'm in the warning zone for wind so, we'll see what happens.. Its pleasing to know that some saw snow last night/today.

The tougher that folk have it, the nicer they are. 60 odd miles an hour winds could do some damage around here. Those evergreen trees will cop it, and we've some lovely one's around town.

I was actually thinking Dorset/Devon (inland) perhaps South Gloucesterhire. My interest is piqued slightly (for you down there, not for me).

... We just hit 0C. So, freezing fog. It should have its own name, like Freefog or Freog or something.

Needless to say, foggy here. Quite thick actually.

Currently 1C here with dew point -2. Perfect for snow (not looked at the uppers) but there's no precipitation in the foreseeable hours. Overnight frost almost guaranteed here.

An overnight frost still remains. Air temp is hovering around 2C. Sunny with light breeze.

Though we have a NE'ly flow, its just too warm for snow today it seems. Perhaps the showers will keep moving in from the North Sea tonight ... it'll be colder but will the uppers support snow?

Mostly cloudy throughout the morning with rain showers this afternoon. Sun is poking through cloud now that the end of the daylight nears. Temp at the moment is 4C.

A decent frost here this morning, with mist. I'd love to see a good haw frost... It's been years since the last good one.

Too much emphasis is placed on output from the model gods too far in advance. On the amateur side of forecasting, people are not responsible for sometimes wrongly interpreting upcoming weather, the models are. Models cannot possibly ingest every tiny bit of data required to resolve - in high resolution (which is what our small Isles require) - the chaos of the atmosphere. Model discussion should not be looked upon as a forecasting thread IMO.
