  4. Kp level 6 Storm currently in progress.. GEOMAGNETIC STORM IN PROGRESS: High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras as Earth passes through the wake of a CME that struck on June 7th. The initial impact of the CME was weak, but as June 7th turned into June 8th a G2-class geomagnetic storm developed. At its peak, the storm sparked Northern Lights in the USA as far south as Wisconsin: http://www.spaceweather.com/
  5. Wonderful Sunday morning here after some early showers cleared leaving 1.3mm. Clear blue Sky's with a light S/W breeze. Temp already 15.8c..
  6. ECMWF & GFS this morning is showing some rather pleasant Summery weather towards Mid-Month. With Heights pushing just West of the UK, Beyond that and the GFS continues to show cooler and more unsettled pattern. With the jet pushing South allowing a slack Northerly of sorts... I must say the GFS has been very consistent with this.

  10. Please can all the moaners and groaners stick to this thread please http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/75963-the-no-storms-club-nsc-2014-onwards/page-20#entry2983626 We have all day left, With convective activity pushing North, When have we ever seen storms covering all of the UK.. Some will always miss-out it's inevitable.
  11. INCREASING CHANCE OF FLARES: NOAA forecasters have boosted the odds of an M-class flare on June 7th to 35%. To see why, click on the image below, and pay close attention to the circled regions: During the past 48 hours, three large sunspot groups have materialized. Nearly invisible on June 5th, now the active regions are peppered with dark cores larger than Earth. All three regions have unstable magnetic fields that pose a threat for significant eruptions. The greatest threat comes from sunspot AR2080. Its 'beta-gamma-delta' magnetic field harbors energy not only for medium M-class flares, but also for powerful X-flares. Because AR2080 is centrally located on the solar disk, any flares this weekend will likely be Earth-directed. http://www.spaceweather.com/
  12. Models are showing some unsettled/cool weather for the time of year, With my slack Northerly still showing around the 13/14th, Especially towards the end of the run, With bouts of rain/showers blowing in on a Westerly off the Atlantic. Iceland may get a bit of the white stuff

  14. Heavy showers with rumbles of Thunder in the Distance. Temp 11.1c, Rain 1.3mm.
  15. NOCTILUCENT CLOUDS INTENSIFY: NASA's AIM spacecraft saw the first wispy noctilucent clouds (NLCs) of the 2014 summer season on May 24th. Since then NLCs have begun to intensify around the Arctic Circle and descend to lower latitudes. This morning, June 6th, Noel Blaney spotted a bank of the electric-blue clouds over Bangor, Northern Ireland: http://www.spaceweather.com/

  20. Yes a N/S split is looking likely as i mentioned the other day, Also the GFS has been hinting cooler conditions for a while now from around the 16th with a slack Northerly still showing as heights push up into Greenland.. The ECMWF on the other hand shows a more Westerly flow off the Atlantic.
