  1. I'v been following this situation closely and although looks like extremely heavy rain will effect the South East/East the Cape levels are minimal?!?! I cant see any major activity occuring, maybe the odd rumble.
  2. Moderate snow shower here in East Cambridgeshire this morning giving light dusting over everything, very cloudy with more snow showers looming.
  3. Lots of activity, just had torrential downpour and can hear rumbles of thunder. looking into the sky there is loads of development, looking very very stormy, alot brewing up.
  4. Tiny weak thunderstorm passing over now, moderate rain, 1 rumble so far, will be around 1-3pm when the strongest storms occur I think.
  5. Snowing Light-moderatly here in Cambs at the moment, still snow on the ground from 2 days ago and current snow is settleing. Like a blizzard out there, howling wind
  6. Been snowing again here, picture postcard now, about an inch on the ground I would say!!! Looks fantastic
  7. BIG snow shower just past, moderate to heavy, left around half centimeter, maybe more
  8. Dusting/Covering of snow here with a heavy passing snow shower just passed, looking good for more with cloudy skies
  9. now snowing here moderatly!!! SOHAM-CAMBRIDGESHIRE Still snowing and a good dusting now on the ground covering everywhere
  10. VERY frequent storm/wintry shower just passed with SEVERE wind gusts, with minor damage, followed by a wall of hail/snow pellats/and large blobs of slushy ice (sleet). Never expected such wintry conditions here this early...although it is now getting very cold outside. The storm is heading southwards, towards London area now, WATCH OUT FOR THIS ONE! First proper wintry shower of the season. The hail was so small and heavy it made it look like a blizzard...a dust storm of ice!
  11. Just had a large storm here very little thunder but plenty of moderate to heavy rain with odd claps of thunder and lightning embedded.
  12. Another storm just past, this one was much heavier. Torrential rain for a time, everywhere is drenched and occasional rumbles of thunder, heaviest rain here for quite some time.
  13. Small storm here in Cambridgeshire, some distant thunder and currently raining moderatly no sign of any more tornadoes though! Hopefully this clears the air a bit anyway its too humid for my likeing.
  14. The best tornado event I have ever seen and it all happend within miles from me! We need more events like that please! I dont care about any severe thunderstorm or Spanish plume I want a set-up like that again please!. Unfortunatly that is so rare though and even when a day can be quite thundery with plenty of storms about if the set-up isn't right tornadoes wont form.
  15. Here are a few more pictures.... the wide tornado thing is trying to show you what it was like at one point, you could see dust and dirt flying around in a massive circle, amazing stuff! wish I could have filmed it for you.
  16. I'v been busy doing other things though out today, I dont really care if you think they are fake, i'v got so many pictures of the tornado from when it was forming to when it was full on though i think you'd find that hard to prove. I dont use any other forums apart from net-weather, Im not as into posting on message boards now as I use to be.
  17. It deffinatly touched ground Sir Seany, You could see the suction, absalutely amazing! Some relatives of mine have phoned to say they saw the tornado picking up dirt/ripping up crops and smashing into tree's, I hope it didn't go through any buildings/villages although it dosn't look like it did. To my mind though it looked pretty strong and at one point it was really quite wide so I would imagine it would have done quite a bit of damage to roof's and buildings if it had of encounted any.
  18. I couldn't get any video footage, sorry guys! I have emailed the meto and local bbc lookeast of the tornado and posted a report on torro. Cheers, Matt
  19. 3 Claps of thunder, torrential rain and a large, possibly damaging, tornado here in Soham (South Eastern Cambridgeshire). It was very stormy indeed with large pea sized hail smashing down, looked like the storms they get in Texas . Vue pictures in storms and extreme weather section.. Matt !!
  20. The most amazing thing has just happend, it started off as just a funnel cloud and then went and then came back as a full on tornado in South East Cambridgeshire. I have some brilliant pictures which I will try to add for you all to see and will send some to the local news. enjoy! Matt
  21. Large blobs of icy rain and the odd rumble of thunder currently here in Cambridgeshire.
  22. This morning snow started at about 7am and lasted until around 9am, had a fairly deep covering of around 2 inches widely, the snow was very heavy and it never really turned to rain afterwards just some sleet (the snow was still on the ground at around 11:30 before melting). That no doubt, was the best snow event of the winter for me as before all i'v had is snow showers which havn't settled apart from light sprinklings at night but nothing really. The cold spell really hasn't done justice to Cambridgeshire, we have missed out greatly! And as for this winter, well Kent may have had snow but thats the game really some places get it and others dont and I certainly dont think this winter can be called 'A good winter' for the U.K as a whole, just 'a good winter' for the south east and any other lucky spot. Had a light sleet shower a little while ago and its still pretty cold out there! I might well have a better chance of snow with a northerly/north easterly. Matt
