Such uncertainty. 12z GFS Det beefs up the snow risk for NW Eng, Midlands and perhaps Wales with little precip getting into the SE at all...

In contrast Latest NAE has E York and parts of E Mids under greatest snow risk before pulling the precip back W early Friday...

E Lancs/NW Eng: Dry clear & cold with a widespread mod frost for most of the night. Perhaps a few snow flurries in Lancs by dawn. Lows -5C

Yes very dangerous is freezing rain. I couldn't go out anywhere, gave up trying to walk the dog as I couldn't stand up on the pavement outside.

Given further analysis whole of NW Eng should be ready for potentially a very nasty freezing rain event tmoz. Snow looks a low risk...
