  1. Unbelievable that this intensified into a proper storm once it hit the North sea lol
  2. Really strange that. Heavy convective rainfall for 5 minutes then nothing. Sun is coming back out and humidity has skyrocketed again. Hoping for something better than this 20230625_145513.mp4
  3. Continuous low rumbles out west now. Still miles away but can defo hear it... Current sky situation...
  4. Literally from no where... Edit" can hear thunder now!
  5. Actually no. Something is exploding to my west now.
  6. Strike picked up hear Newcastle area but not sure if it's rogue... Plenty going on in the North West!
  7. I'm not familiar with this map. The darker red where the CZ are?
  8. I think the CF is on the west coast of England now?
  9. Tony Gilbert on UK Weather World called it this morning. The cold front is what we're expecting to initiate now. Time will tell how beastie or not it engages with the hot air mass.
  10. For once I'm excited about the chase lol Not saying I'll see anything but today has the best prospects for a while in these parts. As others have said, sferics and a couple strikes showing around Merseyside now.
  11. Yeah it's doing something. I think UKV is incorrect, current situation moving north east with more breaking out behind now...
  12. Yeah me too. Seen great storm forecasts to get nothing! I'm really hoping to see something decent today though but as always, the weather will do what the weather will do.
  13. It's not the active front now you should be watching. As it engages with the warm air mass to the east it should initiate storms to form. These aren't showing yet. Temps are higher than your prediction by the way. 26 to 29 currently in the east. Met office link below... UK temperature map - Met Office WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Our temperature map shows you the latest temperature forecasts for the UK. Includes forecasts up to 5 days and observations...
  14. I think that was the jist yeah HC. Sferics detected southern Ireland now. Not sure if anyone has posted Met4Cast view of today. Link to Twitter below:
  15. A thin line of convection has sprung up around Preston / Blackpool area headed roughly NE. Although not yet electrified. The supercell storm that hit the northeast back in 2012 started here too from a very discrete cell. Would be amazing if something like that happened again today. There again, probably just my wishful thinking lol
  16. Tropical feel here with a warm to hot breeze. Signs of instability all around. Just how unstable is yet to be seen...
  17. The heat and humidity is horrific this morning to be fair up here. It's not an enjoyable one. And the breeze is like a moist hairdryer. Roll on some cooler weather unless we get some decent dry heat Sky is clearing again now which should aid heating (not that we need any more of it). Really hoping for a good storm this afternoon to clear the air.
  18. Well for once I'm slap bang in the moderate/ high risk area. Already heading to 20c here, humid and I wait with baited breath! Sky keeps going from solid blue to this....
  19. I remember the supercell that hit the north east I think in 2012. Caused absolute carnage with flooding and houses being set on fire with lightning. Was one of the most amazing yet destructive storms I have ever witnessed. Nothing else since had compared in terms of destruction.
  20. Same here mate but hope it doesn't scupper any chances!
  21. Current sky situation here.... Glorious warmth and sunshine although feeling quite humid. I'm in the 40% zone on Nicks forecast so fingers crossed
  22. Great looks like I'm missing out on the action in the NE again. Storms forecast for a huge swathe of the country and this place sees nothing. Happy hunting the rest of you I'll plan my day to overdose on Yorkshire puddings to compensate.
