  1. That clump is heading towards me but watch it'll dissappear as it hits land. Honestly so frustrating! Has a moderate snow flurry that lasted 3 minutes just before lol
  2. Honestly the worst freezing spell for years re snow in these parts. Give me blow torch south westerlies over plain freezing weather with ice rink paths! Pointless having frigid temps with no snow. My dummy is well and truly spat out the pram this morning.
  3. Looks like a direct hit for me IF it maintains its intensity.... This whole clump is moving more north to south now as it nears the coast. Southern parts of the region may be in with a shot this morning. Give me this convective set up any day of the week rather than frontal snow. I love it lol
  4. Showers / front over Scotland definitely moving more north to south in places now however can they maintain any intensity is the question. Might see a few lucky surprises tonight.
  5. Summat drastic needs to change. To be fair we're in a better position than last year. Hopefully something Xmas or beyond
  6. Significant shower activity reaching west to east in northern Scotland compared to before. If they maintain their intensity then east coast could get something later. Showers up there appears to be tracking more north to south now instead of north west to south east as they were earlier?
  7. I struggle to read the wind direction charts but does anyone know if they're likely or forecast to change? Even a direct northerly would be better than this nnw flow. Actually just checked XC weather and looks absolutely naff. Not sure why a warning is out for these parts because I can't see a single shower making any impact in this part of the region. Rubbish!!
  8. Gutted to see all those heavy showers trundling down the North sea. Literally could throw me phone at the wall
  9. I'm starting to concede with this cold spell although seen a few cm from it. Saying that though, we're only part way through the warnings that state several cm to lower levels so we'll see what happens. If you look on the matrix too it's near the highly likely bit so meto must be seeing something we aren't. Good to see you posting mate. Hope you're feeling better soon.
  10. You live in a decent area for snow in most cases to be fair. I'm really loving the start of this winter as we have the building blocks to make something special this year even if there's mild blips here and there. That's the spirit lol I mean it might amount to naff all but at least we're in with a shot and it's snow right down to sea level at the coast.
  11. In all of the above years we got pasted here in the North east. We are defo more snowy than down south I'd say. They're just having their turn at the minute. There's met warnings for here, it's freezing and we have snow showers coming down from the North. It's a great start to winter proper!
  12. I agree it looks promising. Up to now they're not dying down and like you say new ones forming with a decent sea fetch to travel too. Hope you get to see some mate!
  13. I'd take no notice personally. Nowcasting is what's needed and so far looks decent. The meto wouldn't have issued a warning covering 4 days. I got a few cm here the other night with no warning so I'm hopeful. Saying that we'll have to just wait and see I suppose lol
  14. Radar looks promising so far. Showers look like they've intensified in parts as they move south. Good night of radar watching hopefully and looking forward to the potential! Its already snowing in Berwick.
  15. I think the ppn is due to pep up later tonight into tomorrow. Day time today was showing as quiet from what I could see. See what happens later
  16. I never take the radar ppn forecasts too seriously. They never ever get the locations right just a rough guide or indication. The fact heavy snow showers are forecast near the coast is enough for me mate. You're not too far from me so I'd remain hopeful. Radar watching might be fun later lol
  17. It doesn't lol it highlights areas of heavy snow showers mate. Suppose the only way to see what happens for any of us is radar and now casting.
