TOO COLD - Does that mean we will get cold or does this mean too cold for snow. Sorry havent got a clue????
technically speaking it can't BE too cold for snow. Imagine how it would snow in Alaska and Greenland with temps of -60 in the winter.
He also said NO (to cold) not too cold. He is saying the models are saying no to cold.

In the heavier showers plus for elevations - could well be possible - on the eve of winter attempting to fight back it seems
I'm hoping that it comes off. What do you think our chances of return to cold and snowy weather are?

GFS 12z looking like an even better run again - the front piling in on saturday struggling even more to move across the UK and the cold uppers from the easterly moving into the UK that little bit more - may be further upgrades on every model run this week to come yet
Atlantic is looking as weak as a kitten on this run and the high pressure is showing who's boss
something to drool over for saturday next week for Wales
possibly snowing for most of the day as the GFS shows the colder weather push further west and also helps to stall the front moving west to east over us!

Pretty exciting weather ahead with weather getting colder with plenty of chances of snow next week, ecm bom both in agreement WINTER is back.
Would we be talking November snow amounts?

You're a clever one aren't you... How do the months go again? February, January, March? He has been v. good with his forecast so far saying January to be the warmest month with the least potential. A severe event around December 21st, which happened so what is to say he will be wrong with February?

Sounds like you'll both get your wish - high pressure in charge for the forseeable - some on the model thread are seeing winter ghosts - with tales of easterlies/north easterlies/blizzards/retrogressing highs/ - all a bit far fetched right now I have to admit
I don't know, I trust BFTP and Chionomaniac alot and they do seem to think something is on the cards for us come the start of February. Until then I hope we have some cold frosty days. Keithlucky also thinks that we will have a cold spell coming

Out of interest, our summers, why do they get wet and cooler towards the end but the start has temps in the 20s and 30s?
Will we start getting hotter summers and colder winters?

. Seriously though, Don't worry. How many times in the past week have the models swung between a definite cold spell to a heatwave? I think it changes daily :S
