  1. Worth noting that the strongest gusts aren't forecast until after dark, so wind wise, the worse is still to come; I would expect gusts in exposed areas to be locally higher than shown above too. Rainfall should turn more convective and showery through the afternoon and into the evening now.
  2. Winds starting to become gusty now but more notably, it feels rather raw out there.
  3. Nice little "clump" heading into West Somerset shortly. Could be interesting around Bridgwater Bay up towards the Mendips soon;
  4. GFS not shy on some notable gusts south of the M4 tomorrow evening;
  5. Not too sure although this is taken from their website;
  6. It's part of an app. http://www.metdesk.com/?page_id=1123
  7. A snapshot (mph) of potential wind gusts tomorrow night;
  8. Latest forecast wind gusts tomorrow night; I agree with AJ above. 80mph+ easily in places along the south coast at it's peak.
  9. The thing about this low tomorrow night is it is currently shown to be a much slower mover and thus we have nearly 18hrs or so of what could be considered, strong winds;
  10. If you can make it out in the mess, there is also a Met Office amber wind warning out for the South Coast for tomorrow night;
  11. Amber warning out from the Met Office for rainfall tomorrow night;
  12. Tomorrow night looking a tad blowy across the SW peninsula and South Coast;
  13. Latest EURO4 run shows a streamer setting up with a mix of rain, sleet & snow by dawn;
  14. Swear I just saw a flash of lightning up towards Bradley Stoke.
  15. Very broadbrush and not to be taken too literally at this stage, but here are the current possible wind gusts in mph forecast for Friday night;add to the mix the projected rainfall;And it's not looking good again. The saving grace this time is the storm is currently expected to hit Friday night and clear through Saturday morning so for this reason it could be less distruptive to everyday life than today's was, even though windspeeds between the two look like being rather similiar for inland areas of our region.One to watch though. Yes, your in one of the more prone areas compared to today due to there being a more southerly element to the winds at their peak compared to WSWerly today. The south coast could bear the brunt this time.
  16. Another round of 50/60mph winds, locally 70mph on Saturday morning; Let's hope this is the last storm for a while.
  17. EURO4 snow accumulation map for dawn tomorrow; You can see the threat Ian was alluding too earlier for a covering of snow over the Mendips and surrounding uplands and also the moors of the SW.
  18. Like I said before, that looks a bit OTT to me, I would be suprised if that came off.But you are likely to see some snowfall with a covering possible tonight. All down to radar watching I guess now really.
