-
Thank yousounds like its gonna be freezing rain! Reports of it making its way down, so dont hold your breath......
-
just looked at forecast and radar and snow is coming? Is that right?
just looked back on the posts - looks like it might end up as freezing rain
-
still some heavier PPN coming down from Burgess Hill area, cant tell on the radar whether this is moving west or not, dont think it is, so should still snow here for a while?ohh yeah..lool, I forgot about that, I slept through most of it
-
Where were you last winter when the 20cm of light fluffy snow came down in Brighton ? Maybe its snowing a lot harder over in Mile Oak than here, still a dusting I would say, roads and pavements not coveredi've not seen snow like this now here since Feb 2009, this is a joy to behold, starting to settle on the pavements now ...wooo-hoo just hope it lasts a little longer
-
definate surprise, colder now tooSurprisingly moderate snow falling here still. Could even be described as heavy at times.
-
coming down very heavy now, big fat flakes too, so happy :-) so unexpected too !
-
its snowing again - more dusting for the earlier dusting! Settled on the grass now but not road
-
Yes, it looks like its tilting S SE before slipping west if you know what I mean - I am no expert with the lingo, but it might explain the heavy snow symbols on the METO sight right the way till 3am and then lighter to 6am across the region (bar the far east)Yeah strange seems to be heading due south now
-
mmmmm the radar looks like its taking the heavier stuff down from London south and eastwards a little - towards Eastbourne area that so far hasnt had a lot? Is this an illusion?
-
definately a bit of a muddle at the METO officeWell meto couldnt be more wrong. Heavy snow predicted for last 2 hours and not a flake to be seen.
-
You are probably a little higher than me - enjoyI'm in Mile Oak
-
??? where are you again - its stopped in my little spotreally heavy here now, grass, roofs, cars all getting a covering , getting noticeably colder too
-
this snow map of tweets for snow falling is really good http://uksnowmap.com/

Will there be more coming across our region? METO still have snow up until 6am covering all but the far east which shows sleet for a while? Radar looks to me as though it is now west of the region only?
-
I do believe that might be the dusting over with - it seems to be blowing west, its original pathway and the lamp-post is not shining its light on much at all now
-
Dont like to say it but here near Fiveways Brighton its looking a bit sleety now. Not sticking to the roads or pavements, very wet, tops of cars have a dusting - it actually feels like its a bit "warmer" than earlier - just been out to let the snow fall on me!!Actually i'd rate this on the same scale as the weekend so far, but could become better than it if it continues and sticks on grass and pavements, stuck on some things though.
-
yup looks like itLight snow here now too, good to see the MO have extended their warning East, though it looks like it's going to clear our region now going by the radar haha!
-
Thank you it has reached me lol
-
Maria - just a teeny weeny bit of light snow started in Preston Park - am blowing it over your waySeems that it will miss us again ,west of us is reporting snow ,east of us is reporting snow .So frustrating i think i may move lol
missing me AGAIN lol
-
very very very light snow here in North brighton
-
Do you mean its coming down north to south and you DO think the whole area will get 1-3cms? METO have heavy snow warnings out, yet reports seem to be for some heavy but not as much as radar showing it seems? I am definately confused tonightThe radar is suggesting this area is barely moving at the moment, perhaps slight motion to just west of south (185 degrees or so)
Very much a nowcast event...I'm not fully expecting much of the SE to get 1-3cms...
-
thank youOK if you look at the radar, you can ignore the blue's they are not delivery anything, but look for green and yellows and that is where the action is, as you would expect, so at this exact moment just ignore the blues or if you are looking the light pinks are irrelevant today, just focus on darker colours, standard really but it seems to be how its working out.
I.e. where the heavy echo is, that is the snow - for those having radar issues this evening.
-
I dont understand because the METO have changed the symbols across our region in the last 1/2 hour and shows heavy snow from 9pm then light from midnight?!I don't understand ...how can you get ''False'' radar readings ? does the ppn simply evaporate or something ?? last weekend I was too far West by about 1 mile, and too close to sea level by about 20 metres :-( and now it would appear im too far South. and too far East, I hate living here, what a big fat pile of plop !!!!
here's the view outside my balcony window earlier :-( so close and yet soooooo far :-(
