  1. 10cm here as well. It turns out it wasn't a let down.
  2. How much longer will this last? It seems to be moving rather quickly on the radar.
  3. It's snowing to a decent intensity now and much more to come according to the radar.
  4. Things are finally getting a little more interesting here, we now have a nice cover and the snow is a little heavier, blowing in the wind.
  5. The flakes are a littler bigger and snow is falling more consistently now. We now have a very light covering.
  6. I'm making a brief stop here from the Midlands thread to complain about the Peak District weakening everything. If it continues like this it'll just look like we've had a frost. Will it eventually get heavier or will the mountains ruin everything?
  7. A very light dusting here with barely any snow falling. This is now all I can see happening realistically. The Peak District has once again ruined everything ( ).
  8. Is the Peak District going to ruin this for parts of Derbyshire? I'm slightly concerned, opinions please.
  9. Snowing now. Very small flakes but it's settling on the bus stop.
  10. Ah, I'm in Inkersall, the odd flake is falling here now. Hopefully it won't turn to rain here, but we'll see.
  11. Is this in the town centre? No snow here yet, but I'm four miles east of Chesterfield itself.
  12. Is there any chance of a rain shadow effect happening where I am, or should I still be alright? I just saw this question asked in the Yorkshire thread, but seeing as I'm not in Yorkshire I thought I'd ask some people here.
  13. Could you post some images for those who don't have access to it please? A day of Battlefield 3, football and looking out the window to see if white stuff is falling out the sky. Wouldn't have it any other way.
  14. I had an inkling this would be true. I'm just jealous of all the people in here reporting -6 and -7, I suppose.
  15. There are two stations on Weather Underground for Chesterfield. One shows -2.7°C and the other shows -7.2°C. Which one should I believe, once and for all?
  16. -1.7 °C here. Our temperature has actually recently risen (cloud?). :/
  17. I'd be able to watch it happen, I can see Bolsover from my house.
  18. We got around 50cm overall (from the streamer that effected the North Midlands and South Yorkshire), a once in the lifetime event. Unfortunately, nobody seemed to realise as for some strange reason the Met Office didn't give us a red warning. I have some more pictures but I don't think any of them are that good. Unfortunately my camera is terrible.
  19. For some reason I doubt I'll see a complete recreation of the scenes in my avatar, but hopefully by the time I wake up on Sunday the snow won't have turned to complete slush. Even if some don't get what they want, hopefully there'll be plenty more opportunities this month.
  20. Looking good for me to see some falling snow tomorrow. It probably won't settle this low down but then again, in February 2011 any accumulations were supposed to be for high ground and we got an hour or two of snow on the floor.
  21. Wow. Netweather, from the 18Z, have forecasted 88mph gusts here on Friday. I know it's obviously not written in stone, but that's the highest I've ever seen forecasted for here.
  22. I had a few mock exams today, and due to the hall being in use we had to use the dining hall. When the squall passed over us, it was a slight distraction...
  23. I need the change in wind direction to occur for me to get anything now, anything coming from the Irish Sea is going to the south and the showers to the north disband before they get to Sheffield, nevermind here. I don't expect any snow on the ground, just a nice little shower or two.
