  1. We're so close here at 29.9°C. I'm just hoping for one final push!
  2. It's now 28.5°C here. If every day of this season could be like this...
  3. Wow, the temperature has risen to 27.7°C in less than fifteen minutes here! I'd imagine now there's a slight chance of 30°C.
  4. 26.7°C here after a low of 17.3°C. There's too much cloud for us to beat the warmest day of the year.
  5. Definitely the best since 2006 here. However, low cloud from the North Sea did ruin quite around five days or so, but some good storms near the end a consecutive run of eight days above 25°C ensured that the month will definitely be fondly remembered.
  6. I have enjoyed (most) of this month but June wasn't that good here, with many days being spoiled by low cloud. I personally enjoy all of the seasons pretty much equally; as soon as I begin to tire of one season, it's almost the next one anyway. Any kind of weather except low cloud is pretty much fine with me, even the rain today. I have to say though, the lack of warmth in Spring wasn't that enjoyable. March was fun enough, but April and May were boring cloud-fests. There isn't a real meaning to this post, I just wanted to gather my thoughts and (sort of) add my input to the discussion above.
  7. A sunny start here, but cloud is quickly building. The temperature is currently 14.7°C, with an overnight low of 14.1°C.
  8. 71.1mm so far in July, with most of that falling within the last week, putting us above average for the month. We're now at 323.3mm for the year so we're still over a hundred millimetres below average for the year up to the end of July.
  9. Sunny intervals and some very light showers here today, with only 0.3mm of rainfall and a maximum temperature of 21.5°C. Right now it's mainly clear and 16.4°C, which feels rather cool with the slight breeze. I needed a jacket to take the dog anyway.
  10. Surprisingly enough they didn't decimate the last one, so hopefully that's a good sign. That was the story of 2011 though. Big storms erupt in the West Midlands and look as if they're guaranteed to hit here, when all of a sudden they're reduced to light showers.
  11. Pretty impressive little pulse storm here. I can still hear it rumbling to my north. The thunder was pretty much constant with the thing, with some lightning, mainly cloud-to-cloud. Very heavy rain at times too.
  12. That's seemingly it here in Inkersall, Chesterfield. As always, we missed the main bulk of the storm, but we had some torrential rain (40mm has now fallen today), decently loud thunder, and some lightning. I can't complain.
  13. Some of the heaviest rain for a while here, with some good thunder. There's only been limited lightning but still, I can't complain.
  14. It's just a question of whether the shield can withstand. Here in your first line of defence (Chesterfield) it's held out by limiting us to just rumbles and moderate rainfall thus far, with no strikes of lightning yet... Wait, just as I typed that, we had a nice strike. Maybe the shield will succumb to this storm?
  15. Our tears of sadness solidify to create the shield. It's getting dark here anyway. Hopefully it goes with a bang.
  16. The Sheffield shield is seemingly trying to halt Chesterfield's chances at this storm, with the cell weakening as it gets here.
  17. Well, last night I watched a great light display to my south east, and this morning we had a decent storm with nice, heavy rain, some great lightning as it was coming in, and at one point some exceedingly loud thunder. Whilst the cell to the south east wasn't a direct hit, and the storm over us this morning wasn't always that active, I'm satisfied with this thundery spell. Plus, there may be more to come today!
  18. Same for here, nothing except dark skies and thunder.Wait, now a flash!
  19. I've been up all night, I was about to go to bed before all of this showed up on the radar!
  20. Yes, the distant thunder is becoming louder and more prolonged every time here too. This should be fun.
