  1. I have enjoyed (most) of this month but June wasn't that good here, with many days being spoiled by low cloud. I personally enjoy all of the seasons pretty much equally; as soon as I begin to tire of one season, it's almost the next one anyway. Any kind of weather except low cloud is pretty much fine with me, even the rain today.

I have to say though, the lack of warmth in Spring wasn't that enjoyable. March was fun enough, but April and May were boring cloud-fests.

There isn't a real meaning to this post, I just wanted to gather my thoughts and (sort of) add my input to the discussion above. Posted Image

  2. 71.1mm so far in July, with most of that falling within the last week, putting us above average for the month. We're now at 323.3mm for the year so we're still over a hundred millimetres below average for the year up to the end of July.

  3. Just hope the hills dont kill it, if not, it will probably get to me and then move on to your location as well, thats what the last one did!

Surprisingly enough they didn't decimate the last one, so hopefully that's a good sign.

That was the story of 2011 though. Big storms erupt in the West Midlands and look as if they're guaranteed to hit here, when all of a sudden they're reduced to light showers.

  4. Head stuck out of the window and can hear Thunder although the skies look less threatening than they did an hour ago. However one the best storms came out off fairly light grey skies.

It's just a question of whether the shield can withstand. Here in your first line of defence (Chesterfield) it's held out by limiting us to just rumbles and moderate rainfall thus far, with no strikes of lightning yet...

Wait, just as I typed that, we had a nice strike. Maybe the shield will succumb to this storm?

  5. Well, last night I watched a great light display to my south east, and this morning we had a decent storm with nice, heavy rain, some great lightning as it was coming in, and at one point some exceedingly loud thunder. Whilst the cell to the south east wasn't a direct hit, and the storm over us this morning wasn't always that active, I'm satisfied with this thundery spell. Plus, there may be more to come today!
