  1. Don't forget Weymouth and Portland. We have snow shields that deny any assault from white stuff.
  2. If you lived in south Dorset, you would realise that the only time you can expect snow is around the 32nd of Decembruary.
  3. Snow just hitting Weymouth & Portland? Meteo radar appears to show it.
  4. I left Weymouth for Purbeck, about 2 hours ago, should I go back? Mind you, it's about 3c colder here with frost.
  5. Just noticed that on the Met office update. The 0300 sleet has been dropped. Ah well, a good nights sleep then.
  6. Met office now has sleet at 3am Friday for Purbecks. Massive upgrade! Must get an early night Thursday 00:00 03:00 06:00 09:00 12:00 15:00 18:00 21:00
  7. For us in the Dorset area, the only thing that produces decent snowfall, is when cold northerlies or easterlies set in and a depression wanders in from the south west, they bang into each other & we get snow. Rare as hens teeth these days, but we live in hope.
  8. Certainly getting breezy in my bit of the Purbecks. The leaves are getting repositioned.
  9. Looks like any thunderstorms will, again, be east of Dorset. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm starting to believe myself.
  10. A very few drops of rain on the Purbecks. Maybe more later. We need it!
  11. Light snow falling in Purbecks. Nothing to get excited about, yet I am.
  12. I had to go all the way to the Atlas Mountains Morocco last week to get my snow fix this winter. I think it's about as good as I will get this winter.
  13. First post on here, so be kind to me. Looks like a slow decline towards a scandi high & blocking over the northern continental mass area.
  14. And for so long, I've been lurking here and got the wrong one!
  15. Ahhhh. Dear old St. Continuous. The patron saint of continuous rain. Certainly sprinkling the holy water over us in Dorset.
  16. Mixed emotions for me. Last July, I watched from Weymouth a thunderstorm passing over the Purbecks, where I live. Great spectacle, fantastic light show in the distance. When I got home, we'd had a lightning strike. Took out 4 TV's, boiler control box & internet connection. Then............when Openreach were fixing some line damage a couple of days later, they inadvertantly took out our landline during their repairs. So, on one level, hoping to see some action. On another, dreading it. Doesn't strike twice in the same place, does it?
  17. About 3cm lying snow here. Lovely surprise to wake up to!
  18. Can you not post a chart to illustrate your comment?
  19. The met office have got a sleet symbol on the wareham chart today!!! Probably as close to snow as we will get today.
  20. The rain has eased here at Weymouth harbourside, but flags that were hanging limply are now rampant again. The calm waters of the harbour, cratered earlier with raindrops are now rippling with an increased windspeed. It's on it's way!
  21. It's been breezy all day in Weymouth, but as the rain arrived, so wind speed dropped. Light rain around 1800hrs. has now intensified, but windspeed has dropped right off..............for now.
