Now this is a storm. Lightning after lightning. Big thunder rolling on and on. And 12mm of rain in about the last 10 mins.

Lightning every 10 secs or so. All of it within the clouds. Lots of associated thunder. Heaviest rain seems to have slipped to the west of here. Pretty good storm

25c broken here for the first time this year too. It's not unusual, but I'm sure it's earlier than recent years. Way above the forecast 22c but no complaints here. The sky is rapidly filling from the south, and I'm sure some of us will have an interesting evening weather wise.

Managed 24c here today too, although I didn't believe it until I came on here and saw what others had reached. Far above the forecast temp. Will it be beaten tomorrow or was today the peak? Intrigued by the potential aurora display tonight, so the torch is all charged up and if needed I can get to the darkest place I can find. Clear right now so fingers crossed.

Today highlights one of the frustrating things about this part of the country at this time of year. High pressure overhead, yet due to its position the winds from the west bring cloud, whilst many to the east and south are having a lovely day. Hopefully as the high shifts east we get more a southerly and more in the way of blue sky.

Chris.R Quite literally on the boundary right now. Sunny to the west, dark to the east. Looking at the radar though, it's getting organised to my east and outdoor drinking won't last too much longer.

Taking advantage of the quietest day of the weekend and sitting outside the local pub. There is gentle breeze blowing from west to east and it's clearly blowing a clearance in here from the west. I'm guessing any convergence is east of here into West Yorkshire. Looking north it's easy to spot the shower tops over North Yorkshire and the Dales.

Just back from a quick 5 mile round trip into town, and although it's dry here, there was moderate rain in Rochdale. A very localised shower that doesn't seem to have moved much in the past 45 mins.

Out walking the dog, and it's very warm in the sun. Stood on one of the highest points in the village I can see cloud building to the east along the Pennines both north and south. Where I'm stood, and to the west it's pretty clear. Looks like it'll be pot luck with the showers, but if anyone gets one, it'll be a slow moving soaker.

A little cooler here in the far east. Only 19c and not as warm as yesterday. We don't seem to get much warming effect from the easterly wind this close to the hills. As alluded to above, tomorrow looks to have gone downhill, not what I remember being forecast a couple of days ago.

So much for the drier, more pleasant week. After another lovely morning, it's clouded over, we've just had a rain and hail mix and the temperature has dropped to 7c. Tomorrow pm looks damp if not wet, and showers creeping into Fridays morning's forecast too . I suppose it's better than what we've had.

Scuba steve I mentioned it before, but the past 9 months have been the worst for working outdoors, since we started 15 years ago. There's been plenty of wet spells before, but nothing compares to this.

Rush2019 Same here, and there's not much in the way of dry days coming up either. Out of the last 27 days, we've managed only 5 dry ones. A grim but unsurprising statistic. We are either incredibly unlucky, and in the midst of a prolonged wet spell, or something has changed and this could be what the future holds. I really hope its bad luck.

A clap of thunder and wet snow here with the temperature down to 2.5c. Maybe not unusual for March, but unusual for it to come from the south. Must be some cold air aloft.

iand61 it is little more diffficult than it used to be to park, but we've gained a huge space for festivals and shows. There are loads of spaces within 2 or 3 minutes walk, plus there will be a new car park to the rear. With all council car parks free for 3 hours, I don't suppose it's their priority to build new ones.

Undoubtedly the first day of the year that's felt warm. A coat was definitely not required early afternoon in the March sunshine. A wander into town for a couple of drinks and a look at our revamped town hall. Incredible work done to the inside and a couple more months to go on the outside. One of the region's, if not the country's, most impressive civic buildings.

That could well be it for rain here today, but it shows how things have changed that today's 15mm is a quarter of the last month's rainfall. We've got used to 10mm every other day for the past 10 months.
