  1. Can't quite believe how close this has got and it's missing us. Still sat outside. Looks like it's hammering it down at home a couple of miles north of here.
  2. Beer garden for lunch today. Showers 20 miles to the west and north. Hope it stays dry . This is the shower shooting up over Burnley. A warm 22c so again a lovely day. Is that 12 great days in a row?
  3. Turning into a lovely afternoon. Cloud breaking a little more and 22c. Great for watching the cricket and grabbing a pint or two at the local club.
  4. Quite the contrast to yesterday evening. Temp same time yesterday must have been 30c or so. Right now I've a reading of 18.7c and a fairly fresh easterly. Today's not been as good as forecast. Still got the bbq going and tonight's sleep will be a far more pleasant experience.
  5. Storm shield in full working order over Dale. Very interesting watching this thing blow up to the South. Thunder every 30 secs or so right now and seems to be increasing frequency. Look out north Mancs.
  6. Ah well most of the activity has slid off to the west of here. Might get a bit of rain but what's best is the lovely cool breeze that's picked up. Quick get all the windows open. A lot of thunder from N Bury and Ramsbottom.
  7. Sat in the garden looking WNW it seems to be filling in this little gap. Still rumbling away.
  8. Hmm interesting. Thunder currently at a rate of every 20 seconds or so from this building to our north west. Could be a pretty active next hour or so.
  9. Gotta agree CC. As the rain is pouring on the front window I just checked our total for today and it stands at 31mm with a fair bit still to come looking at the radar. 40mm or so would be 3 or 4 times the rainfall for the whole of June. Feast or famine weather continues.
  10. Well if this is the last day or so before a bit of a breakdown then I think we've done pretty well in this region for the past month. Another glorious day and a stunning blue sky. I'd give the first third of summer an 8 out of 10. Bit more heat and a little more sun wouldn't have gone amiss.
  11. Agreed a frustrating evening locally with this long, narrow cloud that has popped up the past couple of hours. Can see it's glorious to the east and west of here.
  12. Today looks like it could be a cracker. Light NE wind blowing the cloud off to the SW giving a well defined clearance to clear blue skies. It should be with the rest of the region shortly .
  13. Blustery day of mostly cloud and fleeting sun. Blue skies been threatening to break for a while and now we have a mostly sunny sky, at least for the time being. Temp nudging up to 20c, very warm in the sun. Lovely.
  14. Barely a cloud in the sky and very pleasant in the sun, so with England due to play in the euros there's no excuse needed for beer and bbq.
  15. What a beautiful evening its turned into and what a good month its been. Can't remember any rain 19 days in. Hope it continues.
  16. Photo just now pretty much sums up the best part of the day. Very pleasant to sit outside. Temp easily got to 24c in the 15 mins of sun we got around 5pm. Wonder what it would have been with a few hours instead of a few minutes.
  17. Going off where the lightning occurred, it seems to have been more this side of town. Dark and wet again now but no fireworks this time.
  18. Lots of rain, hail, wind, thunder and lightning just passed over here. Shredded the blossom off the trees. Surprising amount of power for a small storm.
  19. Fascinating mismatch of sun and snow you don't often see. Not the usual sodden slushy mess of midwinter.
  20. 12 or 13cm of lying snow obliterates my previous record of 2cm for this past winter. In fact the most snow since 2018. Beautiful against the clear blue sky but the strong April sun is already getting to work on it.
  21. Yeah it's the 10th April and the best snow of this winter season. Bonkers. 20210410_234237.mp4
  22. Cracking April day. Bone dry here so far when all around are reporting everything but the kitchen sink. Been sat outside in some decent sunshine. All change now. Down comes the snow. Temp dropped from 3c at 8pm to 0.5c.
