Just looked at updated met office forecast for me for next 5 days and we now rain at 3pm on Monday.....what is gong on??

Sorry windysnow,meant to comment on your post... New to all this! I too have bought a new sledge, told the shop owner to stock up on them too! I might be taking it back and asking for a refund looking at recent posts! Really appreciate the info you guys/girls do, seems more informative than the beeb! Keep up the good work! . Cheers chris........no that I've had few ciders I feel more positive! Our new sledges are definetley going to be used sometime in the next ...........50 years! Only joking bring the snow on Sunday/Monday, I am traveling to Leeds at 5:30am om Monday will be interesting to see how far I get, or if I get back home!

Anyone noticed that the tempature is not that low tonight 1.6 here near Ashby de la Zouch I was expecting to be minus by now. We have brought a new sledge today and I think we may hav cursed it as I now have a very horrible feeling now for this cold spell! In my opinion due to all the mild weather we have had recently we have all inc weather professionals have to try and grasp this cold spell and build it up to something it was never going to be.

Meeting Monday!

I live nr Ashby NW Leics I have a meeting in Leeds at 8:30 til 12 then driving back down to home, from looking at the forecast I will have snow front for company. warm clothes, flask in the car me thinks!

Metoffice radar looks to have showers on few miles away for me now those in stoke or cannock must be having something wet? Frosty here now, but from the radar the rain band seems to be breaking

I am now going to say that for me this is now over.....unless it shifts straight west for an hour and then back north! Oh well never mind, but it has pretty bad....but I was suspicious earlier when no amber warnings were issued!

Where are you? I am near ashby? Do you it is going to start turning west?

Yep I am a little north of you and it is started to look good, although I am surprised not to see an amber warning yet, however they did get it spot on last Saturday. Have you got much snow lying in poles worth?

I am about 25 miles northeast of Birmingham, but work in the centre of birmingham how do the people in the know think I will be affected tomorrow?

Yep near ashby here and it seems to be easing off we just need it to freeze now it has been a good event though

Started snowing near ashby de la zouch some quite big flakes mixed in with finer ones temps -0.2 settling already please keep coming! My son is doing his homework and not looked up yet out of the window!,!

Bright blue sky's here.....however small flakes falling from the sky!! I am so undecided about sat/sun....I think I will be looking a few miles to the east (leicester) with heavy snow falling...then looking back west a few miles (Lichfield) with rain falling.....and I will be getting a mix of rainy/snow the worst scenario!! But If I think like that and get snow then bonus!! What do other east/west midlanders think?

just watched bbc forecast on red button and showing a great big area of snow over derby,ashby, tamworth etc what do we think? sorry I meant to say at 8am tomorrow morning

Hi I'm about 25 miles nne of brum asl 110 what do people reckon my chances are? My little boy is desperate for snow as he says Xmas won't be as good this year because last year we had snow!!

Evening All I'm nr Ashby de la Zouch, NW Leics, I honestly don't know what to think about later tonight, I have a funny feeling it could be good! Although I do have a theory re METO warnings, they always have a risk factor of around 20 miles either way just to cover themselves.
