Well I am currently in Leeds and absolutely nothing here!! However Philip avery on 5 live said Midlands likely to see something tomorrow

Cheers for the responses. So who thinks I will make back down to Leicestershire tomorrow?? Looking at the showers on the radar I think I will be fine. They are not clumped together enough!!

Hi all I normally lerk in the Midlands thread... However up in Leeds working...question does Leeds city centre ever have lying snow?? Got to travel back down to leicestershire tomorrow around lunchtime

I would go up the m42 to junction 24 of the M1 check the motorway cams on the bbc travel site for your route hope u get on ok

The METO radar shows it moving back east!

It's coming down here again now and starting to cover again where it melted earlier. It's getting heavier but not heavy enough lets be honest every snow lover wants bigger flakes than they have!

I'm 12 miles east of bot and we've had about 5 inches so button probably 6 due to being further west

That's why we all come on here to express opinions, we all love snow and we get extremely jealous when places get hammered and we don't. We just get frustrated when forecasts don't go to plan, which makes u s sceptical I need to go to sleep......PLEASE LET IT SNOW HEAVY TONITE for me

I agree. That's what I am saying about the METO they build in a degree of risk factor

Apologies and I do respect your comments Ian however I was told earlier that the heavy stuff in the Irish Sea would ink back south and merge with the stuff in the sw I don't think this has happened from looking at the radar everything is just continuing to move north and not south east as forecast. Also uppers would drop as everything moved south east. The METO are professionals, I would rather hear a forecast that said we don't really know due to the complexities of the weather u mite get 20 cm's or u mite get 0 cm's. the only peppe that really bother with the warnings are us on here, no one else cares.

I agree weve had so many of these events recently, heavy snow forecast, light snow reality

It no that the weather is not going as they want, it s more that the professionals are risk forecasting

I'm in the amber zone therefore the METO thought it would not be marginal however it is. Light snizzle here no heavy snow although the METO forecast it for now, they seem to factor in a large degree of error, or risk management, unless I get an red warning I know I won't be getting heavy snow. As someone else has said the fronts have not merge, which to be honest as I have watched the radar all day you could see this woud not happen yet why so he METO continue to report it will

It seems to have gone very light here METO showing heavy snow for now, what do they call heavy snow

I have say yet again seems to be a downgrade I am in the amber zone and yes starting to settle but really tiny flakes. Can someone explain why this winter I have only seen small flakes, apart from when I was in central London last week where I saw 10 mins of 50p size flakes. Lets all keep positive !
