Here you go Arpege 12z at 22:00 Thursday

I’ve just done my first model review the Arpege 12z which got it bang on today! and it shows Thursday low it getting as north as Nottingham/derby at about 9/10pm it then appears to stall over the midlands until 7/8am as it fizzles out on Friday another system then appears to come up from the SW again getting as far north as derby around 12pm which then stalls again very interesting

I completely agree at 9am we were due 2 hours of heavy snow, at 11am we were due 5 hours of heavy snow in the end we got 2 hours of sleety/snow!!! So 48 hours out anything can happen!

Well we had dusting from about 4 til 6 and to be honest was better than I expected how the day has unfolded. But if that means that the snow gods will give me a dumping on Thursday then I will take it. i think the bbc got it right today, but in the end I think the timings were wrong, it came just to early!!!!!

I have the say the BBC have got this spot on and last weeks non event. They also have Thursday as rain sleet for me so I will go iwth that And once again another heavy snow symbol for 3pm downgraded to heavy rain!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrggggggggggggg

Do you think it will? Its just been much warmer than forecast I think and the PPN has moved NE. Someone said earlier a NWesrly would establish and send it back??

I am really confused all the model last night had this moving nw to se, yet it is all moving NE and annoyling all the heavy PPN is to the west of me!!! Is it suppose to pivot and move back SE? Also I know everyine says ignore the METO symbols forecast but they must be based on something, at 1pm I should have had heavy snow at 2pm thats now been downgraded to sleet, then heacy snow from 3pm til 6pm. it seem every hour I appraoch that has heavy snow is then changed!!!! What is going on???? Yes I know its the weather but surely they should be able to now cast!!!

I agree! Today showed so much potential for my location. The wind had totally screwed it today. My PPN no need to originate near Lancaster! Does anyone know of any counselling groups for people consumed by snow!!! :)

yeah I think so Although my METO forecast has now removed heavy snow symbols for tonight, so if it is it may not becoming in my direction

Please could a more experienced member explain, why I am i seeing reports of snow to the north west wast and south of me yet I have rain, and im under heavy ppnsurely there cant be that much difference in the dew points?????

raini here now, although to be fair to METO forecast it does say rain from 4pm then heavy snow at 5pm, although the Netweather radar showing pink!!!

the ppn is definitely moving in a Eastlerly direction if not NE, when does it start to swing and move in a South easterly???

Look at the track and speed of the PPN I think (now proabably put a curse on it lol ) we could do well in this part of the mids, as by the time it gets here temps and dew points will have dropped further and also the ground is still cold from the frost this morning. METO for my area keep swinging between light and heavy snow. although last couple of updates have us down for heavy snow for a couple of hours just the time of arrival keeps changing. fingers crossed
