Well as we know the general consensus on the moons formation is that another planet struck Earth during its early life which threw enough debree in to space to eventually form the moon, maybe the so called February Fireballs are debree left over from that event and aren't from the asteroid belt at all?

Snowing here again, only light atm though.
-2 degrees.
-
In Blackburn? there is nothing on the radar at all, maybe the met office radar is naff then as well as their short range models.
Sorry Met i didnt really mean that i just couldnt resist, they generally do a good job and forecastin showery snowfall and marginal snowfall is not an easy task and never an exact science.
Region in general.
-
Falling as snow at lower levels too now.
-
Temperature here -1, occasional flurries blowing through making the place look like it has been coated in icing sugar.
As for filming snow it is likely the frame rate that is causing your problems.
-
Wow server load is geting high.
Temp has dropped by one more degree and the local mist has dispersed, still no sign of precipitation here and radar has been more or less stationary for hours.
-
Temperature is holding steady at 0 celcius and pressure at 992, the showers in the region no longer seem to be moving. Looks like this may turn out to be a non event for us up here, however we still have Jan and Feb to go and they are the coldest months so we are not out of the woods yet.
-
bar is 990mb
992 here and falling.
-
Temperature has fallen by 1 more degree in the last hour and extra radar is now showing local precipitation falling entirely as snow, I can no longer see beyond about 50 meters however as this mist has become too thick.
-
Yes it is falling quickly here too.
-
Ye I got a radar one, less than a packet of smokes.
I can see those showers now, falling as rain snow mixed as I thought and are quite close to me now.
-
Temperature here has dropped by almost 3 degrees in as many hours, probably due to the sky clearing. Urban heating is causing a mist to cling near the ground.
Edit: More showers incoming you say?
Think I'll buy a months extra sub so I can follow it more easily.

Celestia, the google earth of the solar system:
http://www.shatters.net/celestia/
It is free software developed by the open source community so be sure to download it, this program is based on the real mathematics of the solar system so it gives very accurate representations of orbits and such, it also has real pictures of the planets / moons and asteroids taken by various space probes.
It may take you a while to get used to but once you get the basics no matter whether you are a seasoned astronomer or just a novice, Celestia will bring you hours of fun!

3 degrees here at the moment, showers falling mostly as hail with rain and snow mixed though some fall entirely as snow. Seems quite zonal at the moment as it is alternating between snow and rain pretty often.
Altitude somewhere between 720 and 820 feet.

cloaked UFO next to Mercury
Lol thats a process error, deffo.
A good one though.

Those of you who tuned in to the north west local news today will no doubt have heard about this already, several roads were shut after a storm yesterday which struck around 1:45 pm producing heavy rain along with hail, high winds plus at least one tornado which flung a lot of debris from buildings and trees, etc.
I did not see any funnel myself but I was caught in town at the time it blew through and I'll bet most of the damage attributed to the funnel was actually caused by the very high winds (possibly a microburst) which the storm produced as I weigh 14 and a half stone but they was strong enough to blow me around / stop me walking against them while sending wheelie bins flying through the air and throwing tiles off buildings / branches from trees and such while turning the roads to rivers in mere seconds which was quite a sight.
Newspaper report on the event:
http://www.lancashir...ornado_strikes/
Edit:
After a look at some of the damaged areas today I personally don't think a tornado was responsible. The damage is consistent with a small tornado but the areas of damage do not follow the storms track like a tornado would had it dropped from it, the areas of the most damage were on junctions facing west / west south west which makes me think local buildings channeled powerful downdrafts in to transient air currents strong enough to produce the tornadic like effects mentioned in the report.
That said I'll leave this report here given the numerous claims of a funnel, but in hindsight I don't think there was one.

Nice!
Found another much like this here, may even share some of the same footage:
-
Yeah that is a good idea, a quick google search brings up some good fog timelapse videos as well, never thought to look before:
-
Looked like that here 2 days ago, interesting sight to behold.
There same could not be said of yesterday though as the fog had thickened and persisted through the day which reduced visibility by quite a lot.

Never mind what coke does to your stomach, what about indian food?
Sure messed up my passenger seat a lot more than any coke spillage.

It ran with the door open?
Not good though you think they would notice something like that. As far as cooking from scratch goes microwaves were never designed for that anyway so anyone who tries it is going to be disappointed big time as microwaves are only designed for warming.
You should never use one to boil liquids either because it can explode as this video demonstrates:
-
Microwaves work by vibritaing the food to heat it up so anything bad that was in the food to begin with will not be removed or killed the same way as if it was done over a flame, so the microwave itself is not bad for you.
It will destroy your food however much less obviously than flame if left in too long.

It was only the past couple of million years ago the UK was still attached to continental Europe, which itself holds many exotic animals from snakes, lizards, wolves, even bears in some places.
Less than that actually, 10.000 years ago you could have walked between France and England. Incredible to think the sea eroded the narrow land point between us and Europe that quickly isn't it?
But you would've though someone would have gotten a decent picture over the years..Indeed.
There are many pictures and video clips out there of creatures their authors claimed to be wild panthers but they are vague and inconclusive much like photos said to be of ufos or the loch ness monster, it's easy to be skeptical.
That said however the same was true of European mountain tigers for the longest time until recently when a full scale investigation and expedition was launched, eventually capturing amazing footage of these illusive creatures in the mists of the Bhutan mountains.
Edit: Here is a video by charity BigCatRescue on the BP Phenomena:

Saw them last night through a gap in the clouds after sunset, very impressive.
