  1. Cheers fella. Seems to be a 24 hr thingy. Get better.
  2. Yeah, something going around this area. My son had it Wednesday, my dad's got it today, apparently, which has disappointed my son, as they were due to do some pitch & putting.
  3. Oh, I see you get a deckchair, burger and you have to pay to watch doggin' these days.
  4. Yep, BB, here in Potters Bar, after two days expecting rain and having none, the day we're not expecting anything we have a 20 minute heavy shower. Go & figure.
  5. What sort of rainfall totals are we looking at in this area, whatever falls out of the sky, over Friday/Saturday? Anyone got a scobby? Thanks in advance.
  6. Tell it to sod, off then. I love snow and the cold, but this winter seems to have dragged on for ages. Spring warmth is what I want now.

  8. Hmmmm From GP Glacier Point Glacier Point Cumulonimbus Site forecast team 3,154 posts Gender:Male Location:Worcestershire Posted 3 minutes ago I think we need to start to plan contingencies for a potentially sustained and very severe spell of wintry weather, of which Friday could just be the start. NWP is presenting a number of potential snow events next week, which could well provide substantive accumulations. The longwave trough migrating eastwards off the eastern coast of North America is consistently being modelled by ensemble means as cutting through a developing mid Atlantic ridge mid to late next week. That provides an eddy in the flow which is likely to enhance the easterly flow off an already frigid land mass to our east and north-east. Thereafter, the ridge could retrogress towards the NE Atlantic and Greenland bring in another surge of Arctic air from the NE. That would give us a sustained period (with snowcover for much of the UK) of below normal temperatures. I've grabbed the 06z GEFS at day 13 which depicts the synoptic pattern with a trough firmly ensconsed over Europe and high pressure to the north.
  9. Snowing slightly near Stevenage. A bonus as didn't think it would get this far north
  10. Chlamydia in Codicote.......................... oh wait, sorry.
  11. Hmmmmm UK Outlook for Tuesday 15 Jan 2013 to Thursday 24 Jan 2013: Sunny spells and wintry showers are expected to affect the UK on Tuesday and Wednesday. The showers are expected to be most frequent towards the east with snow likely to low levels, giving the risk of significant accumulations across some eastern counties. More prolonged rain, sleet and snow may spread into the southwest by Wednesday. It will be cold, locally very cold, with widespread overnight frost and ice. Thereafter, there is greater than average uncertainty, but central and western areas are likely to be mainly fine and dry although some rain and milder conditions may temporarily spread into the far west. Elsewhere, snow showers are expected and these spread further west at times. Generally cold with widespread frost, icy patches and freezing fog in places.
