  1. Can I get an "Oooooooo", anywhere? UK Outlook for Wednesday 18 Dec 2013 to Wednesday 1 Jan 2014: Generally unsettled, particularly towards the north and northwest of the UK, with the best of any drier and brighter conditions further south and southeast. Temperatures look to be around normal, although there is the potential for colder than average temperatures across the south and east during the start of the period.
  2. Gave into pressure from the kids who said they'd put the decorations up, yesterday. I agreed to shut them up, so they got the boxes down then cleared off into their bed rooms leaving me and the wife to do it all.
  3. I'd take that. Would be seasonal. Although I'd like my snow over the xmas period, make it all festive like, don't want it too early. My memories of snow usually are from January, Februaury, so I'll not be too bothered if we get the above scenario.
  4. Wet snow in Potters Bar that amazingly settled. All a slight white mush out there.
  5. Black as night, and thumping it down in Potters Bar. There goes my football tomorrow.
  6. Rained heavy for half an hour here in Potters Bar. Thought it was supposed to be dry until rush hour?
  7. Ah, the old saying, from little carrots come, um, er........................
  8. It's what it is. It's the turning of the year. Leave it alone, been this way for decades. Whatever you think of it, it marks the decay/new life of the year.
  9. Aunties weather forcast for tomorrow showed the rain not getting this far east tomorrow. Who knows?
  10. And this time, it's not just wishful thinking. Tentative signs of things to come.
  11. A man after my own heart. Love all the build up to the big day, but once boxing days gone, for me, christmas is over. Time to move on. Love winter me. Love the frost, love those days were the fog doesn't shift. Love the snow. Love the anticipation of snow. Don't like the car being perpetually dirty, or having the kids bring their muddy shoes into the house. But winter for me is the best time of the year.
  12. Hehe, Where I live, we do have our own self contained climate. Storms seem to skirt us all the time.
  13. I've also had one this year, and that was for 5 minutes. You want storms, go to America. Just spent two wonderful weeks in Florida having every type of storm imaginable chucked at me. Best holiday I've had in ages.
