  2. Paul You have had a good couple of days to knock Glasgow of the top spot. On the 26th of June you said it would take some doing to overtake Glasgow.
  3. Had a couple rumbals of thunder at around 4pm nothing much though, did not see any lightning, not that I had much chance to look as I was in work  :-x

  7. Peter you have just described the conditions in Portsmouth quite adequately  Well done
  8. Glasgow has been very lucky with thunder days this year they are already above the average for the whole year. The southeast of the country I believe will finish the year above average. Well here is hoping that we will get more. There is no reason why we in the south wont have at least 7 to 10 more thunder days this year.
  9. Just started to drizzle here. Not a very interesting weather day here so far.
  10. It’s a shame it was not the pier with all the arcades on it, what a bloody eye sore that is, was expecting a dance hall and some nice restaurants not a bunch of thugs making a fast buck and running it into the ground or should that be sea. Now I digress, I never realised the Brighton had the only under sea railway line in the world thanks to the Victorians  No excuse about leaves or the wrong sort of snow/ice there then :!: Adi

  20. Someone has just turned a tap on over Portsmouth. As i left work at 5.30 the sky was black i walked 100 meters down the road and there was a clap of thunder then the skys just opened, oh well i might as well keep walking i thought as by that time i was socked to the skin. With in 5 minutes the roads had at least 2" of runnig water on them, at no point did the rain let up untill 15 minutes after starting someone turned off the tap, I dont know how much rain fell put i think it must have been getting on for at least 1/2 inch in 15 mins but i will be looking out for todays precipitation record over the next couple of days, there is a weather station based on Hayling Island so i just hope it was hit by this deluge. Its been a good weather day though, at 7 am we had a temp 0f 17 with no cloud, by 10.30 am u could see the very first signs of Cumulus forming and by 12.30 pm the Cumules was starting to tower over the Southdowns and moving out to sea. I am peed that the sferic is down but the USAF sferic has shown CG slightly east of my location . I think that storm has killed any updraft for more storms tonight but i might be wrong. Ill keep you updated. Adi
