  1. No it has not it was a Funnel that was reported.
  2. Its had a hook keeps cycling. for quite a while now. Hi Sam yeah it looks good.
  3. KTLX - Base Velocity Tilt 1 23:40 @ Bray Oklahoma
  4. Personally I would head for I80 in Nebraska, some where near Gothenburg and wait for thinks to kick off.
  5. It's called airoplus an aviation weather app. It costs around £17 a year although I think they do a free trial. It has a very basic skew-t,CAPE and LI along with other data. It also links to Estofex, NOAA, met office among others. And it has world wide coverage. I like it when I am on the road.
  6. I am well placed if anything comes out of this. The numbers are LI, not great figures but there is a chance of something. I have tracked the area on convection from Bristol. Currently sat on portsdown hill watching a heavy shower blocking the view of the Pompy peg and the I of W. Help if I added the image
  7. Yeah I have seen you under there many times before, I always wondered what you kept in all those carrier bags!
  8. Yeah I plan to start inland and work down to the coast, there is a small potential for some water spouts early evening so I plan to be on the coast by then.
  9. I am going to be out this afternoon as I fell there is some potential but from Chichester I am not sure whether to go east or west yet. At least I am well placed to react to observations.
  10. Not a problem mate, although I do not get on here much these days I am always happy to help.
  11. Just look at the precip on the radar, radar was showing a nice v being formed on that line of precid that is a small trough, The curve north of the v becomes a warm front and the curve south of the v stays a cold front, It is that cold front and the warm front catching up that creates the hook echo and the V is the clear slot. This one filled itself in and did not occlude but it tried. The one further south near Yeovil has done something strange and just died out.
  12. A slight trough has formed near bath the northern part is turned into a a slight warm front and the southern part is still cold hopefully the cold will start to catch the warm. And a secondary trough is forming near yeovil
  13. It will be interesting to see if it starts to occlude and wrap around itself
  14. That is a nice radar return over Somerset. A nice signature of precip in a supercell
  15. I am gutted. I headed towards Selsey when that cell was still in the channel but was caught in a traffic jam within a mile of my house and watched the cell pass by to my left so spun around and hit another traffic jam in the other direction which held me up for another hour by which time it was well in land and out of my reach.
  16. This thread sort of suggests that we are all sheep and need a nanny state to tell us what to do! The MetO is a service for the dumb masses that wake up in the morning, go to work, return home and complain all evening before going to bed. Just to the same again tomorrow. They are the ones that need Government to tell them what to do, how to do it and complain when they are not told. This is a weather forum, I would like to think people that visit are a little bit more aware of the weather and can take bits of information from many sources and make their own mind up and make informed decisions. Its not the MetO fault that your bin was blown across the road or your roof was blown off. It would have happened if the weather warnings were under or over stated. If you drive a high sided vehicle you would probably be working for a company or at least be self employed. That company has a legal responsibility to make a decision whether you should continue or not. And, if you make that decision to stop because of the risk; then your company should stand by you. Every company that had a vehicle blown over should be fined £20'000. We are all capable of making decisions and if we feel it unsafe to do something then we should not do it. That also go's for taking risks, if we perceive a risk as a minor risk then we have made the decision to take that risk. How can others dictate what we should do or not do. I make that decision every time I go out storm chasing. If I am flattened by a tree or struck by lightning then so be it, I know the risk and I made the decision; so I have to live (or die) with the consequences.
  17. Some more footage from yesterdays storm this time from Hayling Seafront http://youtu.be/n__D3gGeHSw And, just in case you missed the first video I posted it can be watched here http://youtu.be/7HwYjqASvY0
  18. A report of a tornado has been made on Meridian Tonight Facebook page in Sidlesham, West Sussex. That's near me but I can't confirm it at this time. Anyone local got any info?
  19. LOL as you can hear 'OMG' was not what came to mind!
  20. Hi Purplepixii Yeah I am glad no one was under the tree when it fell, I did have a good look to make sure no one was under it and I had my medic pack in the car. The sea was not that interesting, the wind was not blowing on shore. The wind and rain, hail and stones were more interesting than the sea.
  21. I thought I would head over to Hayling Island to take a look at the sea state, although I did not expect to see much excitement as the storm did not coincide with high tide. But, I did catch this! This is normally quite a busy junction but thankfully not today when this happened. http://youtu.be/7HwYjqASvY0 I will post more video later today.
