  1. I clip my strikealert 2 to my sun visor when in the car, it works well and only goes of when i turn on something electrical.
  2. There are some heavy cells crossing the channel at the moment but I don't think they have any activity in them though.
  3. Strikealert version 2 is a lot better built that version 1. I use it all the time. It eats batteries a bit faster than the version 1 I still get a couple of days of constant use out of it. The only thing that I don't like is that it turns itself off after 4 hours which is ok not to waste batteries but like today when I use it to give an early warning of any local storm activity whilst I am away from the computer for long periods. Other than that its great.
  4. I am on a photo shoot today so to busy to get involved with looking at the charts, modifying skew-t's, watching radar and building my hopes up. Which I am glad of to be honest I think it is one of those days where we sit and watch hour after hour and the majority of us miss out. Saying that though Netweather forum, radar, sferics are all running in the back ground so I can keep at least one eye on what is happening!
  5. I have seen St Elmos fire whilst on a French commandos mountain warfare course in the Alps. Our ice axes where glowing and humming. It was amazing sat on the mountain in the middle of a thunder storm. I believe I saw ball lightning on the night of the storm before Selsey was hit by the tornado. There were pinky purple lights in the sky during the hight of the storm, they would come and go moving very strangely in the air. they were not up high only at roof high and sometimes dancing trough the tree tops.
  6. Damn Dave you missed us by about an hour. I think you will have a long wait to see anything now sadly.
  7. I get home and the strike alert is going off more now than it has all evening.
  8. I am just back from Portsdown Hill were I was with sendandreturn and although we did see some very distant lightning earlier in the evening it was not that great. I am back home to check if it is worth heading east now or call it a night
  9. Awww poor thing, You could leave him at home or even bring him so he can see the beauty and the fascination.
  10. Well if we get anything we will both see it but me being closer to the downs encourages me to get up on the hill. Arrangements have just been made that if anything happens a couple of us are going to meet up on Portsdown hill.
  11. Providing the tide is not in and its a high tide, I have seen Flooding in Bognor in the past.
  12. Personally I think you should have stayed the extra night. Things look a bit more promising now than they did earlier today.
  13. lol get the cream cakes in then Coast, I might be heading your way later at this rate lol
  14. That has been my suspicion all morning but I live in hope we will see something slightly further west.
  15. If we get anything today I think it will just clip me. But time will tell!
  16. Eiffel Tower lights are pretty gaudy lol I am think it will go one of two ways, we will see something or we wont lol
  17. yeah i agree its mostly anaprop, I suspect a lot of it are insects and stuff blown out from France.
  18. There is some interesting echo's crossing the channel but I am not sure its all precipitation though
  19. Yeap a nice straight line of heavy precipitation from Chesham to Christchurch heading northeast. It seems the thunder has stopped and did not get to far from the coast.
