    Well for what its worth,theres still plenty of sea ice up at the pole. Remember lots of top scientists predicted it would be gone by now... Just a thought.

    I wonder what models the met are using then,as there outlook doesn't seem as bad as some are making out on here especially for the south.no heatwave but average is still nice in august.

    Ha ha. Not settling yet, if it gets heavier the temp should drop then who knows. Just hope the streamer stays intact.

    Just a bit of advice needed. Im flying out to geneva on sun the 1st of feb for a holiday at la clusza france, if these charts were to come off does any one think the airports could be closed. Gettiing worried a bit.

    Ive really had to take some time away from the models. It can take over your life. Hunting for cold and snow which i love more than anything else except for kids and fam.just learn to snowboard or ski then you will see snow a least once a year.sometime things need to be put into perspective. Enjoy the next week.ps. mods move if necessary.

    Heavy snow shower just passed through.and yes it did settle covered everything now eased off. Starting to melt now.first flakes since march 2013. Happy.

    I dont see why people are worrying about the ecm 32 dayer. The medium range one is not always right at day 6 onwards.

    Temp has rose 1.5 degree in the last hour and half. And we were meant to be in the weather warning zone for snow. Merry christmas from a very soggy north glos.... Forgot to say temp 5.6, oh deary me

    Another ecm which will be complety different in the morning. I think all models should only go to 120hrs, would save an awful lot of heartbreak. But then again we wouldn't have much to talk about.

    Dont post to often as my knowledge is just about average. But talk about rinse and repeat, im sure ecm at 144 is nearly exactly the same as yesterday's chart.

    Dont post very often but i think now is the time. The northern hemisphere charts are looking fab for cold in the long term. Ecm is leading the way.

    Thanks for the reply gw.the artic keeps surprising many. I for one dont think we will get below 1 million sq kilometres for a very long time. Quite a few scientists thought we would be ice free(in summer) by now. There's no denying the summer ice is on the decline over the last 30 years.but look at the Antarctic. No one is capable of reading the future.

    Well one word for this pathetic excuse of a winter. Sh#te. I havent seen one flake of snow here yet, the local rivers have been in constant flood for weeks.the wind hasn't stopped howling. Ive just a bout gave up on a cold spell. Bring on a nice warm summer surely it has to dry out some time. Please I just cant take anymore.

    Just got back from tignes yesterday. Great conditions on and off piste.last week they had 20cm on tuesday and 15cm on friday morning. I now this because I measured it my self at village level. Much more higher up off piste. A lot more than some other measurements suggest. What a cracking ski area.

    At the end of the day the models predict what might happen. Not what is going to happen.could all b different tomorrow morning. I think we are along way off predicting anything past 120hrs with any confidence.

    Well looks like my prediction could be right.snow between the 11th of jan and 18th. When ever I go snowboarding it allways snows here, has done for the last five years ive been. Very strange.
