Different organisations/companies provide forecast advice to different councils. The heads-up to them for next weekend is solely in precautionary (not prescriptive) response to some of the forecast solutions being chewed-over currently. 00z EC, for example, shifted goalposts with it's snow threat/distribution charts into that period, yielding a more bothersome signal down across Midlands into parts of the south, but it's all a moveable feast of course.

Not sure if relevant to this thread but a Farmer friend of mine who runs 2 snow ploughs has had a heads up email from local counsil east sussex to be available between the 27th-29th incase of snow, I presume local authority have some sort of meteorological info at their disposal ?

up high on the south downs between Brighton and Eastbourne at Telscombe Village just now my four year old boy found himself as i did at his age and for the first time in his life up to his neck in a snow drift , brought back some great 1980's memories , bring it on.

Found some great 4 and a half foot snow drifts at Telscombe Village near Brighton, a very 1980's winter look to Sussex today, its quite simply snowmadness

Garden pea sized flakes here in varying intensitys but mostly light and falling so slowly and quite sparsely but seems to be getting pepping up a little now ! but only a little

Been snowing all day up here on the south downs in different amounts and diameters , was lovely and White earlier but now just settling in the corners and roof valleys and much of the earlier covering slowly disapeated , but nice to see still falling as light snow at the moment :-)

Snowing quite heavy now , looking rather White up here now after last nights constant groupel , a nice seasonal postcard look all surfaces covered but not enough to sledge on but pretty all the same :-)

yes everything was white up here on the downs near Brighton up until 30 mins ago but then the temps climbed and it is now slush butAnyone around the brighton area who has this snow settling??
still snowing moderately and helping to make

NW Extra radar (worth getting if you haven't already) showing the extent of the current weather conditions, I guess this could go for another couple of hours at least in the Northern part of our region?
