  1. This jaffa cakeses on St Jude which was officially the most overhyped storm ever! It's eased off abit here now, I think it's got as bad as it's going to get but according to various forecasts it's going to stay fairly wild right through until at least midday tomorrow!
  2. Just when I think it's easing off another huge gust wakes me from my slumber, don't think I'll be getting much kip tonight.
  3. Your clearly not doing it right mate I'm only in Upminster a few miles from you and we've had well over 60mph here let alone 40 lol
  4. Gust last hour from our local weatherman's website of 55mph but his house is sheltered at the bottom of the hill, but as things stand we've topped St Jude by some distance already, it seems to have eased off abit after that MAD gust though maybe that was its peak here I don't know but I'd say that was easily 65 if not 70.
  5. Ok that last minute or so it's just got EPIC, something just crashed over next door might have been garden shed going over or some roofing coming off I'm suggesting 70mph+
  6. Wow is this thing ramping up the gears now it's really squalling and starting to roar, lots of rumbling on the house!
  7. It's getting worse out there folks another huge gust just blasted through our 50'ft tall conifers, it's expected to start peaking within the next hour or so.
  8. Really getting loud out there now, definitely the biggest storm for a good few years here, my windows aren't liking it :-/
  9. Ok scary my bedroom windows which are double glazed are rumbling and creaking now and thought I just heard a tree crashing over in the road behind us, the peak will be around midnight to 2am I reckon.
  10. Depends on where those weather stations are, I'm at the top of a hill and about half an hour ago had a gust which must have topped 60mph and the average wind is really building now it's becoming more constant. The way this is building and building reminds me of October 2000 let's hope 2am dosn't get that frightening otherwise I'm going to start looking for some clean underwear!
  11. Urm it's already about that now, if this continues to build and not peak for another 2 or 3 hours it'll probably be 70-80mph inland and more like 100 on coast, I've got a terrible feeling the Met have underestimated this my house is already shaking!
  12. Seems to have eased off a touch here but rain is hammering down and I keep seeing blue flashes in the sky but no thunder so thinking it could be power cables going.
  13. Quite agree it's occasionally gusting in the 55-60mph region already and reports of 70-80mph on the south coast, somewhere inland is going to see over 70 before the nights done and probably 90+ on the coast.
  14. Latest observation from UK Weather app for Romford 32mph gusting to 59mph I'd say that's pretty accurate from what I'm experiencing and it could get worse yet!
  15. I disagree it's cranked up a gear here in the last 10 minutes, rain lashing against the window now and trees look like there abouts to snap in half, my brother has gone out in it he must be mental lol
  16. Ok windows starting to rattle now and I can hear the gusts coming about 10 seconds before they arrive it's mental, easily on a par with pre Xmas Eve already if not slightly worse and definitely worse then St Jude, and to think this thing isn't supposed to peak until at least midnight I wouldn't be at all surprised if somewhere offshore gets 80mph.
  17. My 50'ft conifers at the end of my garden are bowing like crazy OMFG absolutely HUGE gusts now gotta be over 60mph it's like the sound of a train rushing past!
  18. Some wild gusts here in the last hour or so 50mph+ I'd say and it appears to be building all the time!
