They are always an hour behind.

I always like this one in these situations. Stay away from the forecast tab(I think its automated). But certainly the temp observations are valid:

Ashford never gonna win, lacks any kind of altitude and just a wrong spot but this time is gonna be a decent covering from 2am.

Dave, I remember we had a ENE. It was just perfect for N Sea convection. Any further south, and the channel warmed things up too much. Any further N (say, Herne Bay) and the showers did not have enough chance to develop. It *really* fell back then!

After a winter which has felt like being told your deliveroo rider is nearly there, only to see him vanish over the other side of town on the app, we are almost at there.

He's at the end of our path. Finally. Let's hope it's still warm. Er, cold.

    What a terrible analogy.

No, it's great. Though in my case Uber. Gets 2 streets away, then unexplicably goes back to base!

Does anyone know if the London Heat Island effect is playing a part in models showing a shadow of low snowfall to the south and west of the city?

If that’s the case - is there the possibility that this is overcooked, and due to the pandemic/lockdown there’s going to be less heat thereto disrupt the flow?

Dunno, but I wouldn't want to live in London any more. And that's not even just for the weather!
Let's face it 1 or 2 Deg C makes all the difference. Either it falls as rain, and if it does snow, it lasts less long. Pandemic makes no diff, I would say its the sheer (over)population of the area in terms of dwelling that b_uggers your chances up -- so situtation very normal. If you want decent chances of Snow, do a 'me' and get the hell out of London!

I see others are finding the same as myself, at 1127am according to the met office we were going to get quite a lot of snow on sunday and now at 1500hrs the met office have us dry with cloud what has happened ??

Yep -- there's still a warning (about to be removed) but nothing predicted to fall from the sky, apart from some light rain tomorrow late afternoon.

  6. Looked out the Window here in Ashford.

Snow everywhere! (but not here it seems ;-))

What little did lay is melting like mad. What's all that about?

This event, like many others, was hardly worth the ramping, hyping that went before it.

In a word: C R A P if you are a snow lover. There's my moan. Off to bed shortly and expect it to be gone by 10am. Doh!
