  1. Well we managed this yesterday afternoon, first almost sun in 3 weeks.. Back to cloud and wind today, all the rain to the North of us though. An you tell when we went through the tunnel.....
  2. By the way, if anyone is actually following my weather station, don't worry about the changing wind direction, were out for New Year on the boat!!
  3. Blackpool often has it's own little weather window, cloudy inland, rain in Preston but the coast bathed in sunshine. I was born and bred there, still visiting regularly, and every 2 weeks through lockdown. It was lovely to come along an empty M55 and see that sunshine pool at the other end on so many occasions.
  4. Well you didnt send any over here, not seen the sun for weeks it seems, and more grey cloudy damp or wet days to come. The sun last came out here on Dec 20th lunch timeish for about 15 minutes between patches of thick fog....before that, 10 days maybe.... Absolutely Shi7e Winter, nothing even cold and frosty with sun on the horizon, never mind snow.
  5. More record snow everywhere(except the UK)... Record snow buries north and west Japan WWW.BBC.CO.UK The snow has meant grounded flights and stranded travellers as people are told to stay indoors.
  6. At last, my new weather station arrived in May and its finally broadcasting....the instruction book was a bit confusing, referencing pages and screens that werent there or hidden. I've gone for Ecowitt, is there any point signing up for more than one?? I.e Wunderground and Metoffice?? How do you update the firmware, I've seen a cable slot next to the power button that looks like a camera socket to USB one? ...and will this clear the partly cloudy with sunshine that has been on the forecast bit....   7. Well it rained heavily overnight, and again this morning, now just grey drizzle. The River Nene has gone into strong stream advice do weve had quite a lot over the past few days. Edited to add, the River Great Ouse warnings have just gone on too.

  12. Unfortunately, I woke up last night, thought "bloomin heck, I'm gonna be late for work as it was so light". Thought my alarm had failed to go off. Shot out of bed, went to put kettle on, then grabbed phone....03.24. Full moon amplified by fog. Kettle off, back to bed for a few hours more.
