    Thanks to you all for your help and hospitality yesterday in Sheffield. The ABC concert was brilliant, and we came out to more torrential rain, (sleet at Woodall Services), which continued all the way back to Northants....along with thick fog in Leicestershire. The worst driving conditions I have ever experienced, M1 was full of lakes, off the motorway slush and larger lakes appeared. On the A5 down here, it was quite dangerous, and maybe should have been closed. Got back not long after midnight.

    Unfortunately, the lava has now cut off the access road to the Blue Lagoon, guests had half an hour to get dressed and on a bus out. It has also cut Keflaviks hot water supply pipes!!

    Pipine its a concert due to start at 7.30 in City Hall. I reckon the snow is nearly finished watching the radar and it will take us a couple of hours to get there on Mway. Even the Metoffice says rain from 5pm now.

    We are setting off up to Sheffield in about an hour, hopefully, the traffic will have sorted itself out in 2 hours when we get there...

    Right you lot, information needed.... We have a very important appointment with a band called ABC in the City Hall ,Sheffield tommorow night and will be coming up the M1 from Northants. I am guessing the Meadowhall exit and dual carriageway into the city will be the least affected and most gritted route? Normal car with good tyres.
