Opened back door can hear the snow evaporating!

Thing is if it had just stayed clear with the temps as they are. We would have lost little snow cover before the breakdown on Friday. This freezing rain is just pointless.

I know 101 -Winter is winter not autumn. Most folk I have spoken to thought the calm snowy weather was fantastic. It does my head in when they say double digits with a smile.
However METO are hinting at a Scandi High next week or potential for a reload anyway.

Light rain in Grangemouth, although it's got heavier in the last half hour. Temp was 0.6C when I left half an hour ago and the dew point was -0.9C. Though on my way up to polmont train station the windscreen looked as if it had some wintry bits on it so maybe turning a bit to sleet.
The min overnight was 0.0C. Sitting in the car right now in a car park and it looks as if steam is rising from all the cars.
As long as it's snowing in Maddiston then! LOL

Rain in the Weeg but it looked of the wet sleet variety. I expected the rain to turn back to snow later today so who knows. Amazing thing was al the trees in Falkirk were still white but it was raining so ambient temperature is very low. It's those damn uppers.

Dusting of snow no rain.

Still -1c here. Can't see it getting above freezing tonight.

I think it will be snow, rain then back to snow in the morning. The front is bringing mild air but it's a scorpians tail. Whipping round and then being pushed back.

Now 4cm so not too bad so far. If it gets to 6cm that's a great result.

Think we have an hour light snow and half hour heavy left. At 3cm so far.

Nothing yet think 30 mins away from here. I expect it to reach all but East Lothian.

Snowing on Gourock Web cam. That's how far East it is so far.

The radar is maybe showing the moisture rather than actual hard stuff which might be an hour behind it. Either way the forecast timings have been stone age this last week. Currently -4.1 low of -5 not too shabby.

Snell wind my dad says that one to this day! He says pronounces it Shnell though!

When people in Tallin get sleet that melts on impact they say :"Scotland out there".

What is frustrating is that Bathgate/ Livingston/ Cumbernauld/Bannockburn have all had lying snow this winter. But my wee triangle in Falkirk has had nothing. I think we have a snow shield from the Forth/Bathgate Hills and Ochills.

Sugar dusting...total disappointment. To be fair they all got it wrong. It tracked to far north and east and plunged south too late to hit most of the land.

Some agreement that we could be in a continental easterly by this time next week! It will be dry but anything that does falls will be snow. So a pishy ,windy mushy weekend and then back in the fridge hopefully. Probably won't be nailed on until Saturday though.
