  1. Didn't get to Nevis today. Skied at Glencoe again. The top runs stayed in the mist all day. Snow was crunchy off piste not great. However reverted to the bottom access runs as they were firm but good and I could actually see!

  2. Looks stunning Moffat. I will maybe sign up at the end of the month. Let's hope for a big dump of snow before then! I can probably get there in about an hour and a quarter from where I am. I would guess over the back of Lanark! The wife wouldn't come as she likes toilets and all the parafanalia though. One for a half day on my own I think.

  3. Nae bother Ravelin. I think the back corries are open but Braveheart chair has still not run! I don't mind dropping over the summit and then going back round the mountain anyway. Will report on the general conditions. Strangely one of my favourite runs is the one right under the chair. Not that challenging but great snow. :D

  4. Moffat I will stick a few quid in tonight. What's the deal with the Lowther hill? I note you need to be a member to ski there. If someone decided to go for a day on a whim. Could you join at the site on the day. I might join but I am not that close where I will use it very often. It's probably a lot closer than the Coe or Shee. I presume there are off piste options as well?

    :D

  5. Well had a fantastic days skiing on Sunday at the Coe. Managed every run other than Rannoch Glades. The bottom access runs were in great shape. Off to Nevis Range tomorrow hoping for more of the same. There is a breakdown being talked about at the weekend. I just hope it's not too mild as it would be a shame to lose all the snow on the lower slopes. I have another 4 day ski trip at the end of the month. It's not clear if there will be any snow after the thaw between the 15th and 18th!

  6. We were considering Glenshee this weekend but probably not now. This morning I booked a lodge outside Ft.William for 4nts next weekend since wife & youngest have extra time off school. We'll save our skiing money for next weekend, it's been years since I skied Nevis or Glencoe as it's too much of a trek from here for a day. So I for one will be praying for it to stay cool and settled through next weekend (unless of course it wants to dump some more snow on Aonoch Mor in the meantime, but that's looking unlikely).

3.6C at home at around 8am this morning. Pretty much grey, cloudy, dry and uninteresting in Dyce right now.

Yes I love Glenshee! But only when the whole thing is open. I hear Nevis have opened the back corries, but Braveheart hasn't turned this year. I am off to Nevis on the 23rd for a few days. I am praying there is no wind. Also hoping for some more snow. Warrens hasn't been able to open due to ice! Nevis is without doubt the quietest centre due to it's location. Cairngorm does my head in!

  7. This settled weather is good for skiing at least. I am off to Glencoe on Sunday. Even the access runs are open which is unusual. Should be a great day. I think they are saying -3c with snow flurries. We are looking to after Valentines day for any interesting weather now! :cold:

  8. Hope you said there were plenty of upstanding citizens on the NW Scottish thread who would vouch for your character!  :D

Bright here in St Andrews and temp up to 6c so highest in quite a while. If we're going to have lots of HP I hope we at least see some decent spells of sunshine. Anticyclonic gloom not welcome.

You will stand outside the young offenders with a shell suit and a Burbary cap! What were you expecting. LOL

  9. Yes when we have some snow on the ground for a week and temps of -8c it hasn't been that bad. However what we still haven't had is a proper disruptive 7 inch snowstorm. Proper snow is when you can fall onto it and still can't see the grass. I think there were still blades of grass poking through when we had our biggest fall. :pardon:

  10. Wee covering this morning. Hope it's there when I get home! The snow must have only reached Falkirk last night as nothing to the west at all. We might get some flurries tonight. The forecast after Friday is a gentle Thaw! :cc_confused:

  12. Richard it shows how ridiculous that carbunkle award is! Aberdeen is a great city. I was there in September last year, so I don't know what the judges saw. I can think of at least 20 other towns that should get the award including my own of Maddiston!

  13. Well I can say something which maybe makes the winter sound harsher than it is. I have had lying snow in every month of winter, so far? Still got some in the back garden today!

The fact the METO have removed the warning means that we might get some snow tomorrow! LOL :fool:
