Can't you move south for the day?? Lol, I don't want it too bad - can't see the school run being much fun :-/Im hoping it goes abit further north, the current run looks as it its going directly over the top of me... not had some good high winds here for a while so im buzzing for this!

Almost purple coloured skies to my west, not sure they'll go overhead though - wind direction is slightly off course.

my 7 year old has really taken an interest this summer, dh calls us the nerds lolWife just said,"Christ snow in winter and storms in summer, does me head in you stood in front of window all time".Lol,even got 10 year old daughter at it and asking when next storms gonna hit!

more lightning here too, lighting up the room yet a good few seconds between the lightning and thunder. Really humid, rain slightly heavier.same here, looks like were in a good spot again, must 5th lot of storms in last 10 days, more lighting as I speak, probably 3 to 6 miles south of here.

Thunder and lightning here, moderate rain. Birds are squawking like mad!

I'm just a few miles south of Mansfield and we've just had really heavy rain and very loud thundera nice rumble or two just heard to my east, mansfield way :Dits coming!!!

Many places in Nottinghamshire are still drying out after 3 inches of rainfall in 90 minutes on Tuesday.

Bbc showed the rain reaching the midlands from lunchtime, meto showing later - would anyone like to have a guess at who is right? Planning a day out in Lincoln tomorrow and don't want to be travelling in torrential rain (or shopping in it!)

Very spoiled locally over the past 24hrs, some of the best UK lightning I've ever seen!

Calm after the storm now, though still muggy and heavy skies. Not surprised at the amount of flooding, the rain seriously came down - I now have a leaking conservatory roof

very much similar to my location tooAnother report from Nottingham:Crazy clouds rotating overhead, constant stereo thunder from all over. No visible lightning at all. No rain at present.Clouds are rotating generally clockwise as viewed from the ground. Various breaks in the cloud giving brief views of blue sky.

Rain easing here now, but traffic chaos all over Nottinghamshire due to the sudden heavy rainfall. Thunder still rumbling.
