I'm not far from Mansfield, that supercell was epic! I've heard the huge currys/pc world has closed as the roof collapsed during the storm.Ah if that was a supercell then I caught it near to Mansfield. The rain under it was incredible and roads flooded. Smelt awful too, like sewage.... the flooding I mean, not the town (Blidworth)

Feels even more humid since the lunchtime storm. It's gone rather hazy now
-
Sunny now, can still hear the thunder rumbling on in the distance. 3 days in a row
-
Lightning here now, thunder immediately after. Wasn't expected this today
-
Lots of thunder and heavy rain, no lightning though
-
Huge crack of thunder here, my two year old is running around shouting "whats that noise!!!" Its the first time she's noticed thunder lol

After a lovely sunny morning we've just had an almighty downpour with a rumble of thunder mixed in. The sky is black to my west. Very humid here today and not much breeze.
-
That was short but sweet, anymore to come this evening?
-
Nice surprising storm here, not been online all day so not up to date with anything!
-
Well the sun has come out here, no trace of all the rain we've had. Its muggy and warm with a few towering clouds.
-
Rain, rain, rain - dull looking cloud cover, think we had our lot here early this morning.
-
Moderate-heavy rain here now, the sun came out for a short while before hoping that helps things along!
-
We've just had thunder with a heavy shower. Didn't see any lightning though
-
Finally in with a chance, last storm we had was early January. Our area is likely to see elevated thunderstorms arriving around that time (4-7am) so this seems accurate, although at this stage they are likely to be isolated. It's late morning into the early afternoon for us to get the most intense storms and torrential rain.
-
NW now forecasting storms for my area between 4-7am, I thought it would be 10am before we had a chance (though NW still say 10am onwards too)
Set a 4am alarm, or not?!
-
Pouring down here, muggy too!
-
Yes,we've actually had the sun break through for the past 45mins or so, hoping that will help to encourage things later! If you look at vis satellite this is the area where the cloud is at it's thinnest, a area of more humid air wedged over the N.Midlands, and fuel for the storms as they move further north.

its waiting until I'm in from the school run :-)I'm surprised at the lack of shower development over this area......
I would have thought we would have seen something sparking off. However if all this activity in the south moves up to this region later this afternoon it could end up very good. Normally Lincolnshire does very well in these type of situations. I was just surprised that nothing has developed on it's own in the highlighted area, I've been watching it for a good few hours now.

Hoping to see something here today! Not had any storms since January!
-
Bank indeed, we're off to Paris 16-21st March, may come home with a tan!
-
We may put it off until Sunday, luckily we have annual passes so no need to book in advance. Wouldn't usually bother this time of year but moshi monsters are there for half term **yawn**

Hi all, supposed to be taking my kids to alton towers tomorrow - each weather website I've checked has a different forecast. No idea what to do - any input?
-
