    gutted......... earlier forecasts were indicating a start of the cold weather to be as late as mid December this year with February benchmarked to be the worst - so a long way to go yet....!

    I own a scaffolding business and today was absolutely freezing. Pont Henri first thing then Bridgend......really cold..... fleece on.

    Morning All, I have had numerous texts this morning about cold weather next week! I am panicking as my gritters are still being reconed. They are indicated single figure temperatures next week - can anyone shed any light as to whether the low ground (M4 corridor Cardiff - Neath) will dip below zero during the nights? Panicing a bit - please help..........................!!!!! p.s.....come on wales !!!!!!

    Anyone got any ideas how the winter is looking this present time? La Nina seems to be back in? Im no weather buff so if anyone can shed any light? The word on the street is that is will come earlier this year. What are your views? Thanks, Your local Welsh Gritter

    My Netweather 'Freeze alert' long term forecasting is giving a 92% chance of snow next Sunday??? This Weather is mad ! I have pretty much had a fully week gritting. I have done more this week than I did for the whole of Feb! Gets rid of the mountain of Rock Salt I got anyway. More of the cold and a bit of the white stuff please! Your local Welsh Gritting Machine.

    Morning All, Just wondering how the models are looking today. My long range forecasts are up and down at the moment, and this morning they are up ! Yesterday on one run I had next Tue/Wed with some over night temps getting below zero. At present they are all above. Looking at other sites and they are giving a cold next week for sure.     All this is music to my ears !! I'll be honest, I wasnt expecting anything else. Winter come early and felt it would have finished early.

    I dont think they can close this thread until Winter is finally over and not coming back. I look at the information in this discussion as real time info (more so when snow is falling) than that of my reports.

    Watched it on Catch Up......... cant see local farmers parting with their £250k pride and joy to the council every winter, for them to turn them into snow plows and gritting machines. Not only that, they wouldnt come back in one piece going by their driving. With a max speed of 12 m.p.h...............???? Good laugh thou..... :lol: Music to my ears. Still got 140 tonne of Rock Salt left !!! Lucky there is no expiry on this stuff. Be nice to get a couplr of days here and there.

    Morning All, My Netweather extended forecast for my sites is showing a return of the cold next week. I am not holding my breath as things have been so up and down over the last week. One minute im loading up the gritter, the next thing im kicking off my steel toe caps and 'huffing' on the sofa. Has this weather for next Tuesday onwards got any substance? Can you guys see anything coming in? Cheers, Carl
