  1. Hail has been on and off for the last 30 minutes in Neath (SA11).

Netweather extended forecast has changed again :wallbash: mild for the restof the week - no temperatures dropping below zero.......

Can anyone shed any light on what has gone on over the last few hours. Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon was looking very very cold on the extended forecast for me and has now changed to such an extent that we will all be in our bermuda's by the weekend? Gutted.............

  2. Cheers for the info Andy :good:

I have logged onto my Netweather system this morning and my forecast for this week has drastically changed. Cold coming in from the early hours of Friday morning and continuing up until it allows me to see which is Monday. Looking like a cold one with temperatures way below zero at times. :cold:

It would be Cracking if we see some snow over the next couple of days - just to ensure people that Winter is still there and hasnt gone away just yet.

I know its a long way off - but do you know how March is shaping up? On the forum previously, numerous people were saying to watch out for March? Is there anything indicated at the moment.

  3. Im confused.com................:cc_confused:

Who What When Where and How ???............ :help:

Done a very small amount of gritting tonight off the back of the met office warnings (bonus). My data doesnt show any ground surface temperatures below zero for tonight so thank you 'met'.

Are we on for a cold week? Is there cold coming in next saturday. All this back and fore is making me feel a bit :bad: . My current data I get from Netweather is not showing any zero figures for South Wales this week - do you think this is likely to change?

Any clarification? This forum hasnt half woken up over the last 24 hours.......so I assume something is on the cards.

  4. Is It ? Isn't it..............? Im on the edge of my seat here...........

Will it be busy for me? Wont it be busy for me?

This forum is hotting up again - I wonder how next week will REALLY turn out? :cc_confused:

I am opimistic of a final flurry in March, in view of the events in Australia and America, I dont think our winter is over - I think we will get something.....and catch us all by surprise!

  5. Hi Andy,

Good News. Cheers for the info. I have a trade fair stall in the Liberty Stadium tomorrow so im glad its not tomorrow anyway.

Is this a short stint? couple of days? Do you think is the last of it? People keep saying the end of February - but im none the wiser? Does seem very mild at the moment, very mild. Cant complain considering the December and January we have just had, but this weather is crazy. Its more like autumn at the moment rather than winter? All the seasons are all over the place. Crazy........

Another expression that people seem to say is "Whatever America gets, we get 3 weeks later". I cant see us getting the extreme weather they are getting over there - but do you think we might get a tailend of something? Would be fun...... :yahoo: cartch everyone by surprise :cc_confused:

    Cheers, Carl

  6. Afternoon All,

As I havent got a clue how to look at maps/radar etc (admitted). How are the signs of cold @ the moment. Extended forecasts say one thing but you never know.

I know many of you are always studying data etc........hows is it all. If we do get it - how long is it likely to last? Despite this period of cold, is there likely to be anymore?? Many are saying snow in March - is there anything behind this?

    Cheers

  7. Thanks for the feedback.

I played rugby with both Adam and Paul James. Adam has never been good, just a lump. Which is pretty much all he's used for Wales. He is not mobile enough, just a scrummager. With the modern game, Props and Hookers are an area which across all countries is open to development. Paul James has always been a cracking player, from school boys, youth and seniors. Brings more to the team than just scrummaging. Hard as nails and a good leader.

Phillips wasnt his nuisance self, didnt seem with it. Shane is a cracking player, but I personally do think age is catching up. He will walk into any team and his achievements have been fantastic, but the youngests these days (Australian winger for instance) are starting to pip him.

I disagree with Ryan, never done it for me. Not enough bulk to the guy. Good in front of a camera and a good talker. Alun Wyn was quite quiet too. Powell is a liability, but you need his physciality. You either love him or hate him - just dont give him a bottle of whisky and a golf buggy.

I agree with Matthew Rees, again like Ryan Jones, another player I have never rated.

Not enough dog in them. They come out for their next Gillet deal not to play rugby.

As for the scrums, some the balls Stephen was getting from the scrum was putting us on the back foot, no movement to create the right platform. Too messy.................

The mad thing is, England didnt look good either...............:wallbash: They are doing what they done before, they will peak at the right time again - just before the world cup when it matters ! and then go crap again.

Didnt like Gatlands comments after the game, we played well and a smirk??? I dont know what game he was watching. We are lacking the composure at 12 to bring runners in. Stephen was thowing it to Jonathan as if to say "you do something with it". In those situations you need hook or a henson player, who will stop, scan and take the right option. Didnt seem like there was any leadership in the back. Where was the Welsh flare. As for Gatland, again, I think he's lucky to be there. I dont rate him. The success of Wales from Ruddock and the honeymoon period of Gatland was as a direct result of Henrys blue prints many years before. The plan needs to be re-visited and tweaked. Many of the current Welsh boys and some recent international players will tell you the same.

These boys get paid too much and think they are superstars. They dont play for the badge anymore. My mate is over in New Zealand and he said he sees alot of the New Zealand team out a bit, and albeit they are a hit with the ladies, they dont go around like they are superstars, they are down to earth and will have a chat. The welsh boys need to take a leaf out of their books and realise what they are doing when they put on the jersey. All taken for granted - its just a £10k cheque to them.

Oooo well thats the way the cookie crumbles. Im too angry to moan anymore :diablo:

  8. What is everyones opinions for the second half of February? People are talking about a late spring? Will Winter go out with a BANG ? :bomb::cold:

Your opinions and advice would be much appreciated ! :gathering:

Also - cant believe the game last night. There was not enough cutting edge in the backs. No one running straight either. It was like Severns Rugby at times. We didnt use Jamie Roberts Enough and our scrums were not solid enough to create a good platform for delivery. Stoddart, albeit scored, is not good enough for Wales, cant catch or tackle. We should have learnt that from previous opportunities he has been given. Mitchell is not established enough yet, needs more professional Ospreys games. I like Powell being back and Ryan Jones on the bench. Ryan Jones has never really been that good in my eyes anyway. Bradley Jones gets better all the time and Warburton is cracking also. Too many players in the Wales team that lacks confidence and are not hard enough. They dont cut them like they used to. :diablo:

  9. My guess is that snowy weather seems as far away as ever, however the chance of a settled cold and frosty spell is much higher.

But I am not ruling out any more snow this February, nor would I want to.

Settled Cold Frosty Spell will do for me ! :good: If I can get another weeks work some way shape or form would be GREAT! With Winter officially ending on the 21st of March, there may be potential for 10 days! I am hoping for a cold 14 days in the second half of the month. Anything in March is a bonus.

  10. Nice mix of weather today, wet to start and much brighter into the afternoon.

IMO it is not looking promising, but never say never. Thursday seems some Polar Maritime air over us, with a chance of some wintriness in places more especially over hills the further north you go, but after this blip. There are no signs of any Northern blocking, which really is the main building block of wintry weather over the UK.

What's your thoughts on another cold spell in the second half of February?

  11. I remember that one, heavy snow on the Thursday, meant a day of college. 6-8 inches of here snow that time. :D

I said the weather has been spot on, in that it has been nice, nothing at all to do with forecasting.

As for the Snowiest month. February has been the snowiest over the past decade here, however the snowy Jan 2010 and Dec 2010, mean both months are catching up.

Snow Streamer - How has the temperatures (both air and ground surface temperaures) forecast been so wrong? I have calculated and lost around £2300.00 this week.......purely on the forecasting temperatures being wrong with different trigger temperatures for each site I attend. Dont know whether you will be able to shed any light?
