Don't know why?
EC/GFS/gGEM all show the low too north to bring us anything but cold hard rain..
Hoping today produces..
They could be using old data I suppose. The afternoon update should reveal more.

Radar looks crap !!
Hope it picks up this morning ..GFS/EC have stopped the momentum south- looks like heavy rain for us tomorrow night ..
Met office text forecast has upgraded to mention possibility of snow tomorrow night/Thursday......

Rain showers at home when I left for work an hour ago and didn't feel especially cold to be honest. Hopeful for this evening and tonight still.

True only time will tell. Still along way out yet?
True. On the plus side, the further South it shifts, the less mild incursion we have and more chance of keeping the snow we (hopefully) have on the ground by then.

Not at all D it's all about that low. ?
Its wether or not we just get snow on the leading edge and then turns to rain for a period before the cold air comes back giving snow and sleet showers again. Or wether it remains as snow at it passes. With the low lower than lastnight we have a better chance of this. But at the moment these models have it flying round like a kite lol. But it's definitely looking better and location has already upgraded twice today.
It has been sinking Southwards on each GFS run today and now it is shallower, the worst of the predicted wind gusts have been watered down. If it keeps shifting South it could miss us altogether and give the mids another pasting!

Showers are starting to liven up now...... Lighting detected over Northern Ireland.
Have you seen any snow yet this afternoon up at your altitude?

This week is shaping up to be excellent. Chance of significant snow showers throughout and if that low keeps shifting South, potential for a significant spell of snow midweek or is that getting a bit carried away?
-
Certainly starting to feel colder out. When are we expecting the dew points to drop below zero?

Warnings updated still no great shake away from any elevation though.
No, the dreaded mention of slushy deposits at low level.

Hallelujah, snow warning issued for Tuesday night/Wednesday!

I guess it is a very marginal situation with the wind coming straight from the Irish sea. If only it could be a degree or so colder.
Either way, it will rain on Wednesday due to that horrid low. I hope the wintriness later this week can be upgraded.
Yes, can only assume that is the case. Cold enough for snow to fall, but not settle widely

More WArning are still to come..... Pretty sure Scotland is getting an Amber

Yep...uppers of -8 dews below zero.
Has to be the godforsaken irish sea again.
It is strange, shows a line of accumulation from N Wales all the way to The Wash but very little over Greater Manchester/ Liverpool area North.
Edit: ignore above, hadn't been updated. Still not great though
-
Latest EURO4 still not going for widespread accumulations at low levels by midnight tomorrow night, although shows snow falling widely to low levels.

I will post the moment I get a notification of a warning.
I think the server will crash again moments after it is issued!

Gfs 06Z; low further south again, upgrades in the midterm as well.
Looks like this now takes the worst of the wind gusts through the Liverpool and Greater Manchester area as a result.

Every time the wind is a NNW'ly and the showers skirt to my south and hit south Manchester and Stockport areas lol
Problem is that unless there are troughs and features in the flow, each part of the region needs a different direction in showery setups for best results. In Manchester and here to the East of Manchester, a WNW flow is perfect. For down in Cheshire, a NW flow is better. For North of Manchester and Cumbria, direct Westerly/WSW is probably better.
