The clouds have parted this afternoon and things have brightened up. The temperature has been going down slowly since lunchtime, currently -0.8C. Another ice day therefore looking likely.
Best to aim for around 2m above ground level and clear from surrounding obstacles as far as possible and have the sensor within a solar radiation shield if not in the shade. If shielded, you can install out of the shade in an optimum location and get reliable readings in direct sunlight.
Managed to achieve an ice day yesterday. Overcast this morning, but no fog. Warmer than yesterday morning but still subzero, -0.6C. Very still out again.
The sun has set now, so looks like -1.7C is going to be the maximum temperature today. Not expecting much of a drop from the current temperature though unless skies clear though, currently -2C.
Temperature going down again, -5.1C. It's absolutely treacherous on local roads and pavements here, the snow cover from Friday and Saturday has essentially become compacted ice.
The cloud cleared away from here early afternoon and temperature now plummeting under clear skies, currently -1.7C. It Will be interesting to see how low we can get tonight.
Cloudy conditions here overnight and to start the day. Temperature hasn't changed that much since yesterday morning. A low of -0.2C. Currently 0.4C. Very still outside again.
Certainly better than I was expecting. Nothing spectacular snow depth wise but very reasonable for the area. Probably need a battleground frontal event to hit the jackpot around here, probably the same for you too.
