  1. A gloomy day, but dry. Certainly a chilly feel out, temperature only struggled up to 5.8C.
  2. A chilly start to the day here. There looks to be a lot of cloud around over the next few days, so although things are turning colder there may be little variation in temperature day and night, alternating between low to mid single figures Celsius. It may be a bit gloomy at times, but at least it will be largely dry for the next few days, so still fine for getting out and about and certainly seasonal. Not bad at all in my book.
  3. A brighter day today after some early morning mist/fog, a high of 8.1C. It's good to see the slow downward trend in daytime temperatures that's forecast over the next few days.
  4. Yeah, the warning was bizarre. I seem to recall no warning for here, despite all local roads being covered over and a hard freeze overnight. The roads were like an ice rink the following morning. The metoffice have definitely struggled with nowcasting in recent years.
  5. Yeah, winter 2020/21 was pretty decent here too with a number of snowfalls. Nothing seismic in terms of depths, but certainly well above average for this area. It was especially notable for the length of time that snow stuck around on the ground for around late December that year. Then of course we had storm Christoph with the sudden transformation from heavy rain to snow and the rapid accumulation which I'll never forget.
  6. It stayed overcast all day here, but dry, light winds throughout. The sun did attempt to break through briefly, but to no avail. Following on from the posts above, it's certainly rather different to the conditions this time last year. A very early season snowfall on the Sunday which then froze over provided a wonderful picture postcard scene on the Monday morning. Sadly, after a promising start, the winter that followed was very poor in terms of snow, here at least.
  7. An overcast but dry start here and should be a reasonable day as probably remaining dry throughout. Didn't have any significant rain yesterday, just bits in the wind. The wind was very gusty at times during the afternoon and evening.
  8. An overcast but dry start here, although rain will soon be arriving. Still looking promising for colder conditions in December. Snow would be great, but some clear frosty mornings would also be nice.
  9. The squall line went through here early afternoon and delivered a monumental cloudburst. Tomorrow looking like it may be a reasonable day.
  10. After a dry day yesterday, it's back to heavy rain again now. Temperature currently 6.2C. The weather gods are really making amends for all the drier conditions we enjoyed earlier this year with the next few days continuing the theme with a succession of bands of heavy rain moving across, alternating with heavy showers. Low pressure firmly in charge.
  11. A dry start here and should be a dry day today, a complete contrast to yesterday. The total rainfall accumulation was 31.8mm in the end, a pretty impressive total for this area from a single event.
  12. Heavy rain still going relentlessly here, just gone past an inch of rainfall accumulated today.
  13. The rain really is coming down at a fair old rate right now, up to 19.2mm now. It's been torrential at times over the past hour or two.
  14. Several hours of heavy rain here, 14mm so far. Temperature currently 6.2C, feels raw out in the rain. The puddles have merged to lakes. Thoroughly foul out.
  15. A chilly night, down to a minimum of 1.6C in the early hours, but has risen towards dawn as clouds have rolled in, currently 4.4C. A large mass of rain not far out to the West, looks like it could turn into quite a wet day for Southern parts of the region.
  16. After a largely sunny morning, the showers have arrived with a vengeance. Absolutely tipping it down now.
  17. A nice bright to the day here and dry so far, but probably won't be too long before the showers start to get going. Better than being a washout though. Not been a bad weekend so far during daylight hours.
  18. Turned out better than expected in terms of sunshine today. Mostly sunny this morning and clouded in around mid afternoon here, and dry all day. A max temperature of 9.5C.
  19. A lovely sunny start to the day here, an overnight low of 5.4C. It is likely to turn more cloudy as the day goes on, but should stay dry though, so fine for outdoor activities.
  20. Sat under a conveyor belt of showers streaming in off the Irish Sea right now. Another 9mm of rain so far today.
