severe snowstorm

An overnight low of 9.2C here. Quite a cloudy start, which probably prevented the temperature dropping any further than that. Cooler than the previous night though.

A fairly miserable day today with outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain at times either side of a short lull around the middle of the day. Otherwise, it has been a conveyor belt of rain feeding through for much of the day. It's dried up now though with skies starting to clear. A complete contrast from tomorrow onwards with settled conditions as high pressure takes over once again and some markedly cooler nights likely under any clear skies given we are now marching steadily through September. Looks like fabulous weather for the next few days.

A wet start to the day here and raining heavily at the moment, 6.8mm of rain since yesterday evening. It's looking like the Southern part of the region will take the brunt of the rain today for a change.

The rain arrived here about 30 minutes ago, but at least the bulk of the afternoon was decent enough for outdoor activities. Looking like quite a wet picture at times overnight and throughout tomorrow.

A cooler night last night than recent nights, a low of 10.1C. A bright start today, rain forecast later, but hopefully this holds off until this evening.

The clouds parted here late afternoon to leave a glorious sunny evening. Temperature maxed out at 20.2C today. A cooler night to come tonight with clearer skies allowing temperatures to drop more than last night.

It's completely clouded in here now. Dry though, currently 18.3C.

Not a bad morning here with sunny intervals and I should think we'll end up with a dry day here and probably a bit less humid and fresher feeling than recent days. A good day for getting out and about.

The sky has been black as night at times to my East over the past hour or so and there was a deep roll of thunder about 30 minutes ago whilst I was out on my bike. That makes it four days out of the last five with thunder heard.

Today not looking as promising for storms as previous days, lightning activity a lot more scattered and short lived. Some nice towering cumulus clouds around though.

Seems to be moving away now. Not a bad storm, closest strikes were around 2 miles away with the brunt passing 3 to 4 miles to my East. In many respects this provided a good vantage point for viewing. Plenty of bolts across the sky seen with one cloud to ground strike.

Regular lightning and thunder here, seen several bolts across the sky and a cloud to ground strike so far. This is turning into a really decent storm and not yet overhead.

Very interesting looking radar and quite an organised look to the storms to the South and West of here. Skies are dark to my South and West.

Some nice rolls of thunder as the storm moves away. The lightning was not very frequent, only four or five flashes seen, but a few decent cracks of thunder, passed within a mile or so.

Pretty much went right over my house, but no hail, just a short spell of heavy rain.

Nothing spectacular here, a few low rumbles of thunder and a short burst of heavy rain. Still, no thunder heard all year until yesterday and now thunder heard on two consecutive days. Could well be three days in a row tomorrow.

Skies have gone very dark to my South West and rumbles of thunder heard.

The thunder and lightning has died away here, but the rain has been coming down nicely over the last hour or so, much needed.
