  1. That does not make for pleasant viewing! I really hope we don't have to endure all this heat again without a decent thundery breakdown. Not even one rumble of thunder heard here this year, an extremely poor year for convective activity in this area so far.
  2. Yes, it would seem not quite late enough in the summer yet for significant change to the time that peak temperature is reached. Peak temp here so far today is 26.2C, which has only just been reached now. This is in contrast to the past week or so when the temperature has peaked no later than 16:00, even on days with almost unbroken sunshine.
  3. Yes, temperature likely to peak between 15:00 and 16:00, which has been the case here over the past week or so, including today even though we have had almost unbroken sunshine since mid morning, max temperature of 24.7C reached at 15:53.
  4. A lovely sunny and warm day here again, a high of 21.3C and a nice breeze. It's notable now how daytime temperatures are peaking a little earlier in the afternoon compared to a few weeks back, a sure sign that summer is starting to move to it's latter stages.
  5. Yes, not quite as extreme as the minimums in the previous heatwave, but a longer period for warmth to build up. My fans will also be in overdrive! On the plus side, it will be nice to sit out with a few ice cold beers in the evenings next weekend, once the sun has dipped.
  6. Yes, it was a very dry heat in July with the very low humidity notable, so despite the weaker sun and cooler air source, it could well feel equally or more uncomfortable in the upcoming hot spell. Night time minimums not looking that low in these parts, around 16C showing as the minimum on the automated metoffice output for later in the week.
  7. A stark contrast across the region in terms of cloud cover today it seems. Mostly sunny all day in this part of the region. A high of 20.1C, perfect conditions. I'm really hoping things don't get too hot next week, but as @Joe Snow says, it could actually feel even more uncomfortable indoors compared to the period of record breaking temperatures a couple of weeks back due to several days of temps potentially getting into the mid to high 20s celcius at least, with warm nights each day so heat build up indoors will be a real issue.
  8. It was a cooler night last night, minimum of 9.3C. It's another decent day here. Sunny periods, breezy and a current temperature of 18.1C. Perfect for outdoor activities.
  9. Looks like we've managed to dodge the showers until now, no rain recorded yet today, but a shower has now hit. Not as cool as I thought it might get overnight, a low of 11.5C.
  10. Another fabulous day here, mostly sunny with the temperature peaking at 18.6C early in the afternoon, but felt pleasant enough and warm out even with the breeze. Things look set to get slowly warmer day on day as we head through the weekend into next week. Hopefully no extreme heat, low to mid 20s celcius will be more than sufficient for me.
  11. Another largely sunny start here. Cooler last night than the previous one, a low of 12.7C. Possibility of showers today in the forecast, but I wonder whether we will escape them here. The showers that are around in the region at the moment are nowhere near here and they are supposed to move away as we head into the afternoon.
  12. A mostly sunny, warm day today and a decent breeze to temper the warmth whist doing outdoor activities. Less humid than yesterday so more comfortable. Currently 22.7C, but reached 23.3C earlier this afternoon.
  13. Another warm and muggy night last night, a low of 16.6C, rather uncomfortable. A dry start with sunny periods here. A largely dry day coming up by the looks of it and hopefully a bit more comfortable for sleeping tonight.
  14. It was very wet here for part of the morning with torrential rain for a time and felt positively tropical out. It dried up around lunchtime with the sun breaking through at times around mid afternoon. A very warm and muggy day, temperature reached 26.2C this afternoon even though sunshine has been limited. 9mm of rain today so far.
  15. An overcast and wet start here with moderate to heavy rain. 6.8mm of rain since yesterday evening. Not insignificant, but I would imagine other parts of the region have had substantially more judging by the radar. It was a muggy night, a low of 16.6C.
  16. Not a bad day here for the most part, sunny until mid afternoon and very warm, a high of 24.6C. It clouded in late afternoon and the rain set in about an hour or so ago, and it's certainly not mucking about, proper heavy driving rain at the moment.
  17. The clouds moved away quite quickly here this morning and it's been mostly sunny since late morning. Breezy out, currently 19.7C, but certainly a humid feel despite the breeze. Not surprising as currently 72% humidity.
  18. Clouds breaking here with significant areas of blue sky appearing so looking like turning into a decent day after a damp start.
  19. An overcast damp start here, but looks like the bulk of the significant rain has cleared through now, so it maybe looking hopeful for brightening up as we head into the afternoon and could turn into a rather warm day if the sun manages to properly break through.
  20. The sun did actually break through here about 30 minutes ago. I just went out for a stroll and it feels very humid out. Now time to consume homemade chilli con carne which has been simmering away for the past two hours.
  21. Things have dried up this afternoon, but still overcast. Cloud cover not quite as heavy now and the slightest hint of the sun trying to break through, but I don't think it will succeed.
  22. A dreary, damp morning here with drizzle and light rain at times, more of the nuisance variety really so far, amounting to 0.8mm since midnight.
