Everything posted by severe snowstorm

  1. An overcast and wet morning here with moderate to heavy rain for the last couple of hours or so and plenty more to come judging by the radar.
  2. As expected, it was a decent day today with some sunshine at times and the temperature well above average, peaking at 16.7C this afternoon. Some heavy showers now making in roads to the region though. It's looking as though temps above average is the theme for the foreseeable. Hopefully we can flick the switch to some colder weather as we head into November.
  3. A lovely morning here, sunny skies and a light breeze. Temperatures are looking to be on the warm/mild side again this afternoon and well above the average for time of year.
  4. A dull and overcast day here today with moderate rain from around mid morning through to mid afternoon. Not the best of days. Things trying to brighten here a little just before sunset.
  5. Yeah, it was really strange, saw all the reports of severe wind gusts, but there was very little wind here. I'm not that sheltered either and I'm one of the higher points locally to the West of Northwich. My weather station doesn't provide true wind readings as it is low down, but to give an idea of how little wind we've seen here, I've just checked back and the maximum recorded gusts were only between 5 and 10mph all day yesterday.
  6. Pretty impressive lightning activity out West. You'd be doing amazingly well to see activity that prolific in summer, let alone the latter part of October. Shame it's not 100 miles or so further East.
  7. A different world to here, just looked out again and virtually calm still. Maybe we are in the eye of the storm lol!
  8. Relatively calm in this part of the region by comparison. The most gentle of breezes here right now.
  9. So much for the rain that was forecast to arrive by lunchtime, been dry here all day until now and nothing of any significance rain wise showing anywhere near on the radar.
  10. Yes, not the nice clear start this morning that we've had over the past couple of mornings, but it is dry at the moment. Winds from the East, but all eyes to the SW though as showers/rain edge closer as the day goes on.
  11. Another great day again today. A clear and chilly start with some mist/fog patches here and there which cleared with plenty of sunshine on offer again throughout today. Not quite as warm as yesterday with a high of 15.1C. Rather more unsettled again tomorrow by the looks of it.
  12. A lovely day today, largely sunny, breezy with the temperature reaching a respectable 16.6C, but a chilly night to follow tonight under clear skies.
  13. A lovely sunny start to the day here and looking like being a cracking day followed by a decent chance of frost tonight.
  14. After a largely sunny morning, things rapidly clouded in and a batch of heavy showers are hitting here now. The second batch incoming from Wales are of great interest, loads of lightning strikes showing. Just had a roll of thunder, intense downpour.
  15. Thanks for the heads up. That's interesting, inside the higher probability band for lightning as well.
  16. A sunny morning here, but clouded in for the afternoon with some showery rain at times. A mixed bag this weekend by the looks of it with Sunday looking to be the better of the days.
  17. A coolish start to the day here with mist first thing, Lingered until late morning, but then the sun broke through this afternoon and it felt warm out in the sun with light winds just now.
  18. Not quite as chilly to start this morning with the temperature having risen through the night probably due to cloud cover, currently 8.8C. Not a bad start to the day with broken cloud at the moment, but looks as though some outbreaks of rain are possible today.
  19. A similar day to yesterday, plenty of sunshine and a slightly chilly feel when I was out and about late afternoon. A high of 14.7C.
  20. A bright day here with decent sunny periods throughout. It stayed dry for the most part, but we had the briefest of light showers around 18:00, not even of nuisance value it was that brief. A slightly chilly feel out today and a reminder that the season is marching on. A maximum temperature of 13.8C.
  21. Sunny skies here this morning and then clouded in during the afternoon, although has remained dry until now, but rain now knocking on the door according to the radar. Not been a bad weekend really.
