  1. For sure. But something is better than nothing! 17-18th July 2014 comes to mind! What a night that was! Totally unexpected too!
  2. I reckon there might be a few surprises tonight, and East of the IOW might see some action. Anyone else agree?
  3. Shoreham Airport only forecasting rain showers later.... TAF: EGKA 231101Z 2312/2319 12010KT CAVOK PROB30 TEMPO 2317/2319 09015G25KT 6000 SHRA
  4. Yeah, lets hope this stuff forecast shifts east to east of the IOW, then we'll get a nice lightning show at the very least
  5. Just because you are not in the zones doesn't mean you won't get a storm/get a nice lightning show. Almost anywhere is primed for some action!
  6. Yup. But always expect the unexpected. July 2014 a prime example!
  7. Interesting to see that us in west Sussex are still in with a slight chance of something later....even if it is just flashes from the storms 30 miles away!
  8. Already 24.5c according to your weather station edit: can’t be right surely, the official station at Shoreham airport was 15c at 7am
  9. I’m like a child on Christmas Eve already, even though I’m generally out of the risk zone. But July 17-18 2014 springs to mind. No storms forecast, but ended up getting savaged by one.
  10. Another Question: what were the synoptics for the July 17/18 2014 (I think) MCS rampage across the south compared to tomorrow/wednesday? The storms were not forecast and it took everyone by surprise, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable storms I'll ever witness.
  11. Question: I saw a graphic saying the storms could be more east towards Sussex tomorrow/wed. Why is this? What model? It must be the only one showing this, right? All others show west country/dorset/northwards getting the action, and anywhere East of Southampton misses out.
  12. Will the lightning be visible out to sea from Worthing or Littlehampton? will defo head to the beach if yes
  13. I keep bringing out this bad boy. So here it is again folks. The most precise and accurate forecast map available anywhere.
  14. So the models are predicting some serious heat for at least a couple of days next week. We've been here before though, just one month ago. Outrageous heat forecast, then we ended up getting only one day of heat. Lets hope this time the models are correct and we get several days of heat, followed by a MCS rampage for the breakdown.
  15. Good morning everyone. Despite what any computer model may tell you, the image below is in fact the most accurate forecast for any thunderstorms in the next week and beyond. You're welcome.
  16. I'll take a few days of heat and humidity, but there HAS to be a decent thunderstorm breakdown at the end of it all!
  17. Fun fact: it's almost impossible to sleep when it's 20c outside at 12.25am
