Serious frost out there at the moment! Maybe I could just pretend it's a dusting of snow.

Are you sure ? We had a dusting of snow here alllll last winter, the worst in terms of snow for a long time but I hardly used any gas!
It was a slushy mess after a warm front.

Bit still miles better than best cold spell last winter.
Actually I got a slushy 5cm briefly last winter before it quickly melted and this year I only managed about 4 which also melted quickly. At least it was actually cold for a reasonable time this winter

Had snow here but it only settled on existing snow which wasn't much.

....we are having a pretty heavy snow shower up here atm! Unexpected.

A dusting up here, I'd imagine it was rain lower down.

The radar showed the snow passing overhead here however it didn't actually snow or anything so no new snow here.

I'm under that little streamer now and it is settling everywhere. Very light though

The NMM4 shows precip moving southeast with the polar low as expected breaking up over land. I don't think any computer model as got this one just right ,with one or two places getting plastered with snow. Just shows you ,once you've got the cold in, let the fireworks start...
I hope this is right! I'm in the light brown bit on that chart!

The models show this event just brushing my area so its going to be close!

That band looks like it may have set off a streamer. Its been snowing here for 30 mins now and accumulating on anything that was sheltered from direct sunlight earlier.

Just outside halifax there seems to be 4-5cm whilst about 2 miles away from there, at home there is only a slight covering now.

Big flash of lightning here. Not seen thundersnow since 2010! Shame the precipitation was light.

Heavy hail shower that quickly turned to heavy snow just came through. The snow has settled at the edges of the road and on car roofs.
