  1. I think this deep low just to the south of Greenland is important if we are going to get cold and snow. If it develops just a bit further south than shown or even just weaker, I think the high pressure cell by the UK could then ridge into Greenland and latch onto the high already there. The low would then be forced to track much further south.
  2. couple of bits of snow in the air but now the frost is melting. (all snow here has melted completely)
  3. All the snow not on grass or cars has melted. 1cm on the cars and now it has stopped with nothing else coming on the radar. Perhaps some showers later?
  4. And yet the GFSP brings in cold on a westerly flow however weak. At this time of year it is harder than you think to avoid it.
  5. Settling mostly on anything away from walls, houses and trees. They seem to be more resistant to the cold.
  6. Snow suddenly much heavier and settling on cars only. Temp 1c
  7. 100% snow now. Not settling but car roofs are not shiny anymore.
  8. About 30% snow and 70% rain now. And improving quickly!
  9. Even though the GFS has a much worse looking pattern for cold, it still shows high pressure in the northern lattitudes so not a total disagreement.
  10. Since the caldera is sinking, where would you say the top of the magma is below it or is that unknown?
  11. Can see a sharp drop by the end of the chart from the link Allseasons-si provided. Interesting...
  12. Well that was epic in terms of rainfall. Pleanty of thunder but no lightning.
  13. Strange. Some cumulus cloud is moving 90 degrees from alto cumulus above it. Bit eerie.
  14. Distant thunder heard! Looks like that storm to the west is changing direction
  15. Can see the anvil of that system by the peak district to the south of me. Missed again > Nothing else but blue sky.
  16. But in my honest opinion it seems the GFS likes to bulldose the UK with frontal systems and lows in FI quite regularly and even in the occasional case it does come off, the real world scenario is usually much more complex. Perhaps less flat and more variable in intensities. This is why I don't write weeks off in weather forecasting
